Neji deserves way better than what Kishi did to him

Please before I say anything don't fllame me ..I know this has been stated many times , but I'm not talking about all of the Konoha 11 , I'm talking about Neji ..and I'm not a Neji fanboy he is just one of my favorite characters


now let's start : in part 1 , Neji was shown to be truly special , not only as a shinobi ..but at young age he reached the full potential that a Hyuuga can reach ..and he possesed jutsus that even Hyuuga Hiashi was surprised that he possesed and thought of him as a truly special member of the clan ,

at the chuunin exam finals , he pretty much owned Naruto , but thanks to Plot-no justu and Naruto's famous Talk-no-jutsu ...Naruto was able to beat him . ( I'm not hating on Naruto )

..by the end of Part-1 in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc ...he faced Kidomaru , and he managed to survive impressivley enough ....

Now here is what really bothers me : why the hell in part-2 does Neji seem like a rookie even though he is a Jonin , and despite his accolades in Part-1 which I stated earlier ..it almost makes me imagine that if Kishi hadn't turned Neji from his old A-Hole attitude in Part-1 (which was Bada$$ btw.) ..then maybe just maybe he could be like Kakashi for example , and notice I'm not saying make him the series itself lol ..I'm just saying that he deserves much better , he is a True Bada$$ ..

I apologize if this thread bothered you in any way , and like I said, I know it has been stated before , but I just felt like ranting on this because Neji is one of my favorite characters infact If I would rank them by numbers he would be second .. xd, and thanks !

i always wanted to see more developement too, not really neji but the byakugan, it had descended from the rinnegan (databook fun fact: the sharingan actually mutated off the byakugan) too, so it would stand to reason there are several levels of evolution of the eye as well as some fairly OP techs, considering the base level allowed you the foresight to close an enemies chakra paths...which to me could defuse anyone, a sharingan master like itachi included. All that said, saldy thats just the way it goes, kishi probably at the time had a general path for either sasuke or neji depending on who the fans preffered as an antagonist, but the chose sasuke. And why compare neji season 1 to neji season 2? Of course in season one he would be hyped up just like everyone naruto had to face as the weak fool that he was back then( not hating naruto myself but its obvious he was) whereas now, he has achieved the rank that many of the strongest ninja of the leaf are...because kishi wrote the hyuga into the background we will never know, but its very possible that many hyuga at that level know nearly all if not all the techs neji does. What im trying to get at is that for a kid in the chuunin exams, he as all powerful, probably more so than sasuke or gaara, but now that he is on the level of other members of his clan i doubt he is any stronger than them since kishi limited the hyuga pretty much.

no one remembers poor tobirama, the foreveralone kage

besides that battle had part 1 power restrictions and had them as edo tensei puppets rather than actual tobi/hashi fighting with full knowledge and scope of their techs, didnt do them justice at all

It is sad that some characters were left out a long the way, most of the konoha 11 aren't what they were built of to be, or at least that is what it seems thus far in the series.

However I don't believe it's easy to develop a story/manga like Naruto without making a few mistakes, it happens and unfortunately can't be helped as I believe the manga is coming to a close.

He had his days in the spotlight, the other characters needed to be developed as well. Namely, Sakura, Chouji, Shikamaru, Naruto and Sasuke some more, Sai, Itachi, most recently Kabuto, Gaara, and ofc Tobi. Neji served his plot purpose as a daunting opponent for Naruto, putting him back in now doesn't serve much purpose.
