Why strong ninjas lose to the underdog

Apart from plot-no-jutsu
Its simple really the stronger ninjas have spent so much time being at the top the their endurance has fell since the possiblity of hitting them is really low and their master tactics end battles really quickly . The underdog has spent so much time being looked down on and ridiculed that his determination is what that really holds him and keeps him getting up , so his body starts to build resistance to all that damage

As stated by jiraya in the pain fight " i cant remember ever being damaged this much ) , his body was ready to give up since he wasnt used to that type of bet down
