SUMMARY: Orochimaru comes out of Kabuto, Kabuto forces Tobi to use Izanagi on his right eye Sharingan, takes over Tobi (who is Obito) and becomes the Ten Tails Jinchuriki. Naruto is able to save Sasuke without killing him, otherwise it would have continued the cycle of hate that Nagato said would never end and only Naruto could stop it.
Naruto and Sasuke team up to defeat Orochimaru and BAM! end of story. All supporting evidence in the explanation below. (First few paragraphs explain motives and such)
So, my friend and I did a lot of thinking and discussion on Naruto and the many possible directions that the writers could be taking this epic series. We saw that there are a few theories going around about certain characters or aspects in Naruto and how it will affect the ultimate outcome of the story and how that outcome will play out. We started asking "What if?" and eventually came about to something that made story sense, and we wanted to share with you to get your thoughts on what you think. Flaws in our theory are especially welcome to be pointed out, and additions or other theories are also welcome.
This is a bit long...so please bear with me, you'll enjoy reading!
Let's start with Tobi. The most mysterious character in the entire story. What do we know about Tobi? Jack shit. We only have theories. One theory I really like regarding who Tobi is, is that he could in fact be Obito - Kakashi's childhood friend. There are many factors supporting this theory that I'm sure many of you already know...whether or not you agree with
it is another story.
Another theory we were talking about was Tobi's name. In japanese when you count, "To" actually means
"Ten" in english. And "Bi" means "Tail" (i.e Kyuubi - Nine Tail) At first I was thinking that Tobi called himself this because the Ten Tails was much his mantra - his goal in life and what he stood by and fought for. What if, in fact, Tobi is the Ten Tails Jinchuriki? That is one theory that has been thrown around.
After thinking about it for awhile, I really liked both of these ideas, and the writers could go one way or another. (or obviously something completely different) Then what came into my head actually made a little bit of sense, and my friend agreed with me on this. What if Tobi IS Obito...but is ALSO the Ten Tails Jinchuriki? Tobi may not even know this himself, but we'll get to why that won't matter in a minute. When the Ten Tails power was split into the nine Bijuu, it's body was sealed within the moon, but where did its' remaining power go? The Ten tails was split into nine different Bijuu, but why nine? Where is that 1/10th of power that remains? That's why I think it's possible that Tobi (rather Obito in this theory) could in fact be a Jinchuriki, and holds the remainder of the Ten Tails powers.
-We looked into this and there is no definitive support for this, because we do not know how Obito/Tobi would have received the remainder of the power considering that Tobi's whole goal was to become THE Jinchuriki. Only theories, take from it what you will.
I want you to think about a conversation that was not too long ago shared by two people who had the same perverted sensei. Pain/Nagato's motive for doing everything that he did...was to eventually end all pain by controlling all life, because he believed - and it is true to but one extent - that it does not matter if good looks to destroy evil, because only evil will come out of destruction and and go to destroy good, and that process will repeat in a never ending circle of hate. The difference is that Nagato believed that Naruto was the only one who could save the world from this cycle. (Naruto didn't kill Pain after defeating him)
Now that that is in your head, let's think about Sasuke. The bastard who got away, who got so twisted in his hate and pride that he wants to destroy the village that raised him up. (not that misjudged either) If what Nagato says is true, and if Naruto is to end the cycle of hatred that plagues life, then Naruto vs. Sasuke cannot end in Sasuke dying. As much as Naruto thinks that now, if he kills Sasuke then the process of hatred can only continue. This is why I believe the culmination of Naruto vs. Sasuke will end somehow with Naruto saving Sasuke. I have no clue how this will happen, but it has to happen to
support my theory, and it goes along with Nagato's philosophy.
And now good ol' Orochimaru, you wicked wretch of life. The man who sought ultiamte power, immortality and infinite knowledge. Orochimaru is by far - in my opinion - one of the most interesting characters in Naruto. One thing that's crazy about Orochimaru is that he always found a way to come back. You could never seem to get rid of the guy. Whether it was rendering
his arms useless, defeating him in his own jutsu, didn't really seem to matter. He always came back. Kabuto, who has been at Orochimaru's closest side for as long as we can remember, find that the only identity he has was in Orochimaru...so once he died...why not become like him? Now look, Orochimaru is not stupid. The man has had a backup plan for literally almost
everything. He was constantly threatened with death...so doesn't it make sense he would use Kabuto as a last resort to save his life if necessary. Let's use the Curse Mark as an example, we all thought Sasuke killed Orochimaru, then he popped out of his Curse Mark and tried to get the Sharingan he so long desired.
My thing is, why would he not create a failsafe like that within Kabuto? Waiting for the perfect moment to reveal himself AGAIN for the purpose of acheiving ultimate power.
So through all of this information, this is how my friend and I think that this could all go down, and how awesome it could be
if it happened like this.
Naruto vs. Sasuke: Naruto, in order to save the world from the never-ending cycle of hate, avoids having to kill Sasuke and saves him. This will be vitally important in the coming events.
At one point, Kabuto and Tobi square off. Mono-e-mono, man to man, creepy guy to even creepier guy. Kabuto tries to exploit Tobi's every weakness, and eventually forces Tobi to use Izanagi on the last sharingan he has - the one he uses to see. Tobi already replaced one of his eyes with the Rinnegan, and once this happens, he will replace his other eye with the Rinnegan as well so now Tobi has use of both eyes. Both of which are Rinnegan.
As this fight continues both grow very weak, and it's at this very point where Orochimaru decides to reveal himself. Orochimaru comes out of Kabuto and seeks to take Tobi's body.........and the Rinnegan.
You see, because of Orochimaru's nagging means to always come back just when you think he's finally gone, it will be the same here. Kabuto is simply the ultimate tool for Orochimaru to achieve the ability to become the Ten Tails Jinchuriki...the ultimate power, immortality.. Stop for a second and think. Orochimaru defeated Naruto with 4 tails out....without ANY special eyes. So the man was already extremely powerful. Give him the Rinnegan..will Naruto be able to stop him?
Because Naruto was able to save Sasuke - who are only two ninja who really even have a shot at taking Orochimaru down at this point - they team up to fight Orochimaru and end his darkness once and for all.
For awhile I had thought that the Fourth Great Ninja War and the Akatsuke were only the middle of the ultimate goal which would be Naruto vs. Sasuke. But, indeed, it could be the bastard that has plagued you throughout the entire series of Naruto. Makes sense to me how they could make Orochimaru come back AGAIN.
One quick note I would like to make about Orochimaru appearing from Kabuto. Perhaps something Orochi did in the experiments he was performing or hadn't performed that Kabuto did to make himself more like Orochimaru. Maybe Orochi concoted a plan to bring him back from "death" because he knew Kabuto would not be able to resist. Kabuto was his ultimate tool, as I said.
That is the ending that my friend and I discussed and came up with. OBVIOUSLY just a theory, but definitely a lot of fun discussion can come out of this one!
Note: There are probably some flaws within the theory. But this is why we post it! It is mainly us just brainstorming one of a many possibilites that the writers could take.
