Background:
Long Background, so I'm putting it in a spoiler.
Ninjutsu
As you can see from the list above, Nagato is able to use an immensely wide range of jutsu that can put him in an advantage at just about any moment during a fight. One perfect example of this is a jutsu all of us have seen, it's called Shinra Tensei. The potential of this jutsu is beyond what any normal jutsu is capable of. In just seconds, it has the ability to change and entire landscape and deal a huge amount of damage to the enemy. Almost nothing can penetrate it either. On top of that, this can be used for defensive purposes too. For example, it can block anything no matter the mass, speed, or power of the attack. It also serves as a purpose to repel anything on the users body such as flames (Possibly Amaterasu?). The only way someone even has a chance at countering this move if they have a move that's equal in power. Naruto had to go into his six-tails for him to be a bit greater power than Shinra Tensei, letting him break through it. Let that speculate just how strong an average Shina Tensei is. The thing is, this is only one jutsu in Nagatos arsenal. Nagato has so many more jutsus he can use for either attack or defense, but if I went in depth with that it'd be too long of a passage and no one would finish reading it.
Nagato is also quite adept with summoning and sealing jutsus as well. An example of Nagatos sealing expertise is his Five-Seal Barrier, in this jutsu, five people need to locate five different tags, and rip them all of simultaneously. If this isn't hard enough as it is, after that happens perfect replicas of the person who ripped that tag off are formed in front of them. These aren't ordinary clones either, these clones have the exact same tools as the original person, along with the same chakra and moveset as well. To defeat this clone, the original person must push their boundaries, meaning exhausting a majority of their chakra. This sealing technique is designed to stall, exhaust, and separate a group of people.
One example of Nagatos summoning techniques is the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. This summon is one of the most deadly, if not the deadliest summon ever shown in the series. This statue has the ability to spit out dragon-like energy from it's mouth and as the energy his a person, it takes their soul, thus killing them. (This can somewhat be considered a sealing prerogative). This statue is used to collect the tailed beast chakra, and after collecting all the tailed beasts, it could be used as a weapon to destroy a country. This summon also has incredible physical strength and resistance, as it's able to completely cancel out Kitsuchi's Earth Release: Sandwich Technique with just a stretch of its arms. It can also hit the floor to create immense shock waves that could change an entire landscape. It also has the ability to blast chakra out of its back for long-ranged attacks.

Why do I do these analysis'? Because it helps me retain the information about a character more when I write it down in an organized fashion like this. It's basically a learning experience.
Why do I make a thread like this? Because it's very easy to organize information with the setup (spoilers, glows, links, etc etc.). + Maybe someone will be interested to read this and learn a thing or two about Orochimaru. On top of that, I think maybe it's a nice break from the repetitive threads we see everyday. My opinion though :shrug:
Side note: This took me a couple of hours to do, please don't ignore it xD. I got pretty lazy on the intelligence/chakra, but in my defense, there's not much to talk about concerning Nagato on those two topics.
Nagato was born as an Uzumaki and lived somewhere near the Hidden Rain village as a child. While living in this area, the Second Shinobi war was taking place. One day, two ninjas from the Leaf Village came into their house looking for food, unaware that the family was in the house hiding from them. Nagatos parents believed the two ninja went in the house to kill them, so they attacked the ninjas to give Nagato an opportunity to escape. In this action, the parents were killed right in front of Nagato. Due to this, Nagato awakened his Rinnegan through pure grief and killed the two ninjas. He considered this the first great pain of his life.
After his parents were gone and he was all alone, Nagato went from house to house asking for food, usually being rejected. Soon, he met a dog and named it Chibi, and he also found two other orphans named Yahiko and Konan. The three of these orphans went around asking for food together. Later, the three children accidentally walked into the crossfire of a match between multiple Konoha ninja, and Hanzo. After the match was over, the children mourned the death of the Konoha ninja and moved on. After the war ended, the three of them ran into the Legendary Sannin, Yahiko plead to the three, and Jiraya insisted on helping the three instead of going back to Konoha, only until they were taught to defend themselves.
Not too long after Jiraya started helping the children, Nagato and Yahiko were attacked by a ninja from the Hidden Stone Village. To defend Yahiko, Nagato awakened his Rinnegan once more and killed the ninja. Nagato was emotionally unstable after killing this ninja and asked Jiraya for help so he could help Konan and Yahiko. In return, Jiraya said that he needs to grow up and use his eyes to find peace. Three years later, Jiraya felt that he taught them all ninjutsu to the point where they could fully protect themselves and head back to Konoha. Throughout the years, Jiraya heard stories of these three, usually about someone they killed. Jiraya even heard new of their death once even though it wasn't true.
In the childrens goal to obtain peace, the three set up an organization called the Akatsuki, having Yahiko as their leader. As time went on, this organization obtained numerous members due to them sharing the same ideals about war. Hanzo heard about this group and saw it as a threat to his rule over the Hidden Rain. So, he and the Root from Konoha teamed up in order to eliminate the Akatsuki. Hanzo lured the three (Yahiko, Konan, Nagato) of them by saying he wants to talk about peace. When they arrived, Hanzo put Nagato in a peculiar situation, kill either Konan or Yahiko, or all three of them die. Since Yahiko didn't want to see Nagato make such a difficult choice, he lunged himself into the Kunai Nagato was holding. During his dieing breaths, he said that Nagato needed to survive because he believed that Nagato could bring about true peace. Nagato refers to this as his second great pain in his life.
Due to the devastation from Yahikos death, Nagato launched an all out attack on Hanzos men, able to kill all but Hanzo. Hanzos trap injured Nagatos leg, which left him immobile for life. Due to this, Nagato showed that he was no longer loyal to the Hidden Rain by putting a line through his headband (somewhat like Itachi). Rinnegan Techniques
Due to the fact that Nagato has the Rinnegan, he is able to do a wide variety of things all on an extremely high scale. For example, due to his Rinnegan, Nagato had the ability to learn all five nature transformations at the mere age of 10. On top of this, Nagato has the dojutsu of enhanced vision, allowing him to see the chakra of barrier techniques around his location. On top of this, he can see the chakra gathered at a shinobi's feet. Due to having the Rinnegan, this allowed Nagato to form The Six Paths of Pain. In which I'll be discussing each path of pain.
Animal Path: This path is usually primarily used while fighting numerous enemies, and has the ability to summon multiple animals to aid them in battle. Each creature serves a different purpose while in battle, on top of that. Each animal summon also has a rinnegan, which allows Nagato to see through the animals' field of vision as well. Each animal has piercings around it's body (chakra rods) which can be assumed they were under Nagatos control as well. The animals don't require a a blood sacrifice or a hand seal while being summoned. Also for a side note, the Animal Path had some Taijutsu capabilities, being able to go up against Naruto even though he was in Sage Mode.

Deva Path: The Deva path has the ability to manipulate attraction and repulsion of gravitational forces. Although, there's a restriction with this Path, if the Path uses Shinra Tensei, the Path cannot use that jutsu again for another five seconds. With larger scaled Shinra Tenseis, the user cannot use it again for a longer duration of time, depending on how powerful the jutsu was. It can last up to several minutes. This path also has Chibaku Tensei, a move that creates a black sphere which has a strong gravitational force, making objects such as the floor itself rise up to the black sphere, it's assumed the moon was created with this technique.
Human Path: The human path granted Nagato the ability to remove a soul from someones body by merely touching them. On top of this, it's been shown that the human path has the ability to read the mind of the person, extracting any information that was kept hidden.

. To interrogate someone, the Path needs to catch someone and hold them there. Then the Path asks that person a question, after the question is answered, the King of Hell comes out and forces the life force energy of the person out in the form of a tongue. If the person's lying, the King of Hell takes their "tongue" out and kills them, if the person is telling the truth, they would be spared. Intelligence
Although there aren't too many indications that directly prove Nagato is a genius, there are subtle hints throughout his screen time that can prove he logically thinks about the things he's going to do.
For example, at the age of ten, Nagato was able to learn all five nature transformations. Regardless of if he had the Rinnegan or not, it's quite a feat. This proves that even as a child, Nagato was determined and had the intellectual capacity to pay attention and interpret information in which he could use to make jutsu.
Another example is the formation of the Akatsuki. Since he made it, it can be assumed he wanted followers, and he knew that his organization would grow since there's so many people who he could relate to seeing as how his parents died due to war, and they were at a time of war. Another thing is that Nagato didn't let his Rinnegan go to waste. He knew this was a once in a generation opportunity and he used it strategically, as how he made his Paths of Pain which cover nearly every form of offense and defense, making it near impossible for him to lose. And since Nagato was immobile, he'd carry himself around with summons to stay far away from any enemies.

Nagato is an Uzumaki, which is indicated through his red hair. Of course, you wouldn't need to see his red hair to know he's an Uzumaki. During his invasion of Konoha, it can be clearly shown that Nagato had extremely large reserves of chakra.

Since the Deva path was being controlled from a distance, the power of the jutsu was probably not as high as when Nagato would do that himself. + It shows good chakra control, being able to manipulate bodies from afar.
If this doesn't prove Nagato has large chakra reserves, nothing will.
