Minato's kind of a one-trick-pony, his best bet is to use ST Barrier on Jinton assuming he can. I'll say that if he can pull that off then he wins, but other than that overall Onoki wins assuming Minato doesn't outlast him. He can make a jinton big enough to cover any tag Minato has placed.

How does Minato even touch Onoki in the air? Surely all Onoki has to do is fly in the air before Minato can tag him with a FTG mark.

ST barrier beats Jinton, ST barrier seems to cost less chakra than Jinton too, Minato can have Gamabunta elevate him to Onoki's altitude and then he can leap, throw kunai and end him, he can use teleportation to avoid Rock Golems and rock clones and once a kunai is in range....well, you can ask Tobi what happens next.

I'm not sure man. I reckon Onoki can fly up pretty high.

But then that would be pointless becuase his attacks won't be able to reach Minato, remember when he fought Edo Deidara? He went really high and so did Deidara so that his Dust Release won't damage turtle Island, meaning that from an extremely high altitude, Jinton can't reach someone on the ground.

I don't think that's true.

Are you referring to this in the manga?

I think he meant the radius of his attack. We know how big a blast radius can be caused from Dust release attacks. For example here:

But this doesn't mean that his Jinton can't reach the ground. Look at this attack:

The two situations are different. In his fight against Deidara, he just didn't want the radius of his blast to reach the turtle, it had nothing to do with the fact that his attack can't reach the turtle. I reckon if Onoki used an attack like the one he did on Madara as shown above, I think he could hit the turtle.

So I think Onoki can still hit Minato on the ground.

Are you kidding me? Against Deidara he was so high that we couldn't even see the ground anymore. All that was there was clouds. He can't hit Minato from there and even if he could, there's still ST barrier and teleportation,

Why not? I showed you Onoki's attack against Madara.

He can't see Minato since the clouds around him will impair his vision as will the distance between both parties so he won't know where his opponent is.

That long Mokuton against Madara isn't as long as the distance he was against Deidara. Remember when Pain wanted to destroy Konoha? Against Deidara Onoki went way higher such he couldn't be seen from the ground anymore and he couldn't see the ground, that Jinton isn't even close.

Well then just go below the clouds if it's imparing his vision. I realise that Madara wasn't as far as Onoki was in the air with Deidara, but I still think it can reach pretty far. Admitedly, I'm just speculating at this part but is it really hard to see that that kind of attack is pretty long ranged.
