Naruto isnt dumb or stupid, just different. (Sasuke comparison)

I want to rant (Compare) Sasuke & Naruto, and what makes them different In terms of Combat.Now I've heard alot of people talk about Naruto's intellect (him being stupid). Lets be honest, Naruto is kind of a dimwit compared to the intellect of other shinobi (Sasuke,Kakashi,Shikamaru,etc.) For example, If you think Naruto defeated Pain because he outsmarted pain then lmao, you are wrong. So what allows Naruto to "get away" with having a lack of intellect (as compared to like 80% of other shinobi)? Ill explain. What Naruto lacks In Intellect, he makes up for In other areas. Naruto relies on his Stats(CRAZY stamiana,enormous chakra,Instinct,physical prowess,etc,etc),Morals(his nindo,passion,emotions,determination,etc),Instinct,Overwelming his opponent,his Charisma,etc. Naruto doesnt necessarily analyze,use intellect,form complex tactics & stategies like other shinobi. Naruto simply just fights(lets not forget that Naruto is VERY tricky). Lets go back to Sasuke.Sasuke relies on outclassing his opponent,outsmarting his opponent,his superior intellect(Sasuke is a genius tactician lets face it),deciet,manipulation,etc. When you really look at it, Sasuke has never really finished an opponent off or "Smashed" an opponent (as compared to naruto). For example, Sasuke vs Deidara. Sasuke did not "finish deidara off", he outsmarted him, he outclassed him,& he decieved/manipulated him. Sasuke vs Danzo. Sasuke was pushing the pace In this fight, but thats not how he won this fight. In the end, Sasuke outclassed & out witted Danzo. I am NOT saying that Sasuke does not have the ability to overwelm his opponent, but thats just not his style. Anyway back to Naruto. EVERY fight naruto has won has consited of the things I listed that he relies on. Naruto vs Kakuzu. Naruto did not out smart kakuzu, he just simply pulled of a tricky feat. and overwelmed him with a Rasenshuriken at close range. Naruto vs Kurama. Naruto did not out smart Kurama, he overwelmed Kurama, just completely Smashed him In the dirt. Naruto vs Pain. Naruto did not analyze pains abilities, he was already aware of pains abilities due to intel from others. What did Naruto do? He went in and finished them off 1 by 1. In the end how did he win? Perfect timing+Rasengan=Smash(game over). Naruto is very brutal,aggresive, and Hasteful(likes to finish things off ASAP/and push the pace on his opponent) he goes In Talk No Jutsu,fight,smash, kick ass, take names, talk no jutsu, fight over. So just know that Naruto isnt really dumb and all his victories arent plot no jutsu or plot sheild, he is just DIFFERENT, very different, and there are certain things that "allow him" to be different. Plus, he is just Naruto U_U.

when kishi first made naruto dbz was one of the things he was inspired by so maybe kishi tried to make the character that has a similar personality as goku and like others have said there are other mangas/animes that use goofy characters as the main character.

And also naruto is maybe one of the most intelligent at making good strategy's with the ability he has for example i dont think anyone in the narutoverse can compare to naruto with shadow clone tactics and getting an open shot on whoever his opponent is with shadow clones.

Naruto is immature and he isnt very bright (booksmarts wise) but he is very intelligent in battle. He has displayed his intelligence in fights against neji, kakuzu, and even in his fight with kurama. He strategically uses his shadow clones. His intelligence has progressed while sasuke has regressed. Sasuke now fights only with his emotions (displayed against the kages where he should have died 3 seperate occasions)

Well first of all I do not think Naruto is nowhere near the intelligence of Sasuke, Kakashi, Shikamaru or others but to call Naruto dumb and say he does not use intelligence in his fights is just well dumb.

When he fought Kakuzu as you say he did defeat him with an overpowering rasenshuriken however it was intelligent of him to hide himself in his clones and attack instead of staying back as he did on a previous attack.

When he fought Pein he did use his intelligence of Sage mode to know that we he was being held and his chakra being absorbed all he had to do was push more nature chakra out and one of the Peins would turn into a statue.

A fight that you forget to mention when he fought Neji one would say it was intelligent the way he used a clone to lay on the ground and appear to be defeated while he tunneled under Neji to come up and hit him again with a power shot.

You also left out the battle with the Raikage where he quickly thought of a way to stop him by using his own jutsu against him when he used his rasengan to hit the Raikage's lightning style attack in his own defense. Again coming up with a counter like that in the middle of battle when you never have faced an opponent before requires some intelligence.


Knowing someones weaknesses and being able to devise a plan in order to exploit those while in the middle of battle are not one in the same. While Naruto will never be able to draw a master strategy for an entire army to win a war he is capable of thinking very quickly to find the best possible way to win the battle.

Hmmm, I dunno about the Sasuke has regressed part but everything else I agree on. You have to remember that Sasuke is still "breaking In" his new powers. Plus Sasuke has been fighting some powerful opponents. I agree his emotions have been getting the best of him lately but I think we are about to see how deadly Sasuke really is with EMS. When he does go back to using his Superior intellect,manipulation,deceit,etc,etc, instead of just fighting with emotions whoever he fights is going to be In trouble.
