what i dont understand is why people wont freaking understand hiruzen is fodder compared to Hashi. Kabuto said he was extremely powerful. Madara said only one who could stop him is Hashi. I just hate it when people bring up what EDO Madara has done and then suggest that " If Hashirama beat that then there's no way that Hiruzen can beat him". Guys, Edo Madara has been improved beyond from what he was in his prime (Fact). Therefore, using Edo Madara as a basis to gauge how powerful Hashirama was is inaccurate. This only leaves us with two things: Facts that were stated in the manga and speculation. It doesn't matter whether the facts stated in the past are "old" or "outdated" as some of you have said, it's fact. Until the manga shows us otherwise, I'm just gonna go ahead and say that I think Hashirama would win against Hiruzen through hype, just because of the fact that we haven't seen either of them in their prime.

Simple. Sure, they said he was the strongest because he was about to fight..Kind of like how people say tsunade would protect everyone and be able to take down pain.

I think of it as, at that time it was all about the 3rd hokage, but now it's not. I think it's obvious that the 3rd would loose against the 1st. His little flame balls and earth walls would do nothing against someone with wood, amazing healing, ect.
