Why does Sasuke still want revenge?

This has always bugged me about Sasuke. I understand why he would be angry about what the council did, and im not saying i condone it in any way. However, Itachi told him why it happened, and that it was for the greater good of the village. Knowing that, and that Itachi wanted Sasuke to PROTECT it as well, why would Sasuke still want to wipe out the whole village, when the majority of them had absolutely nothing to do with what happened to his clan?

I think its because he can't believe konoha would advocate the killing of his entire clan and make his older brother do it just to protect the village. He can't forgive the village for that.

Sasuke is a lost soul trying to find his way. He's been manipulated into thinking a certain way his entire life. From thinking Itachi was a traitor, then knowing all of it was false. To now being manipulated by Tobi. Now, there is so much going on in his mind, he probably doesn't know how to make sense of it all, So he has a course of action and his mind is made up.

Atleast Danzou is dead.

Chiyo is a good example of how their old minds struggle to comprehend change and unity. She needed a lot of convincing in the beginning of shippuden to work with the leaf.

Sasuke can't forgive Konoha for taking away his clan. Even though Itachi told him the truth, it's still his family that got killed. Unlike Itachi, Sasuke has never managed to completely cut off his emotions.
And the reason why he wants to destroy Konoha instead of only the Council is simple: an eye for an eye. They took away his entire clan, so he's going to murder the whole village.
