hashirama can beat ems madara because he knows his weaknest he has fought him many times in the past while hiruzen don't know shit about madara

o.o madara has rinnegan +mokuton now though and he still said hashirama was the only one who can beat him ...i still dont see what hiruzen can use to beat hashirama

U would notice that showoffs (or proud ppl) never admit they can be defeated in anyway. Since madara is a showoff (or proud, which he is) he must have been really owned to become a fanboy like that.

maybe madara miscaculated thinking his ems control will be more powerful than hashirama's suppression or he thinks the kyuubi is too powerful to be supressed

Maybe or maybe not, we cant be sure can we? Unless we see proof. Also it's madara's fault if he brought kurama as a extra help (cheating) only to have it turned on him.

@BOLD: You just said you believe Hashi is stronger than Hiruzen, but that Hiruzen would win because he is a bad match up for Hashi due to knowlegde on Hashi, and that that makes Hiruzen stronger than Hashi.

So do you also think Gai is stronger than Kisame?

Gai's 2nd strongest attack completely dwarfed Kisame's best attack.

Gai is the perfect counter to Kisame and would beat him 10 out of 10 times. There's no doubting that what so ever.

For those of you saying that Hiruzen is the strongest, please, WHO exactly says so? Honestly, unless Kishi himself says so in some interview, then you can't prove that Hiruzen is stronger just by what has been said by villagers or even other ninja. That's all hype. Hype cannot be trusted. The only way to judge a character's strength is by their feats. And honestly, we haven't seen either Hiruzen OR Hashirama in their primes, so no one can say FOR SURE who is stronger. However, the fact that Hashirama was able to defeat that Susano'o does provide a compelling argument in his favor.

Hiruzen is the only hokage to ever be called straight up the strongest hokage ever. By Iruka and in the databooks.

The one who said that 3rd WAS SAID TO BE THE STRONGEST is Iruka....and the one who says that THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN STOP ME(who's name can start a war/ in all era whose name was the symbol of POWER) is none other than Madara himself in his completely super-OP'd form...

The thing is, Hiruzen was there when iruka said it, yet hiruzen didn't scold him for the statement or Disagree with it, He just simply said something like "don't talk about the past", Meaning in the past iruka's statement was True.

Iruka never said I THINK hiruzen is the strongest
He said THE Third hokage was said to be the strongest hokage Konoha ever had
that means that people think the third was the strongest also he was admired as the God of Shinobi
By hype Hiruzen is the strongest

Well I said this long ago. Hashi's power was considered a fairytale. If hiruzen was more powerful, why would people have doubts that his sensei's power is unreal?
Hiruzen Prime may beat hashi in skills as a shinobi but in terms of pure power, only an uchiha like madara is on par
