If Guy was to go up to 7 gates, i'm pretty sure he'd be able to tear Kakashi to pieces. Guy would be far too fast for Kakashi in this mode, and practically all of Kakashi's techs, including Kamui, would be rendered useless. The best Kakashi could hope for is if Guy opens all 8 gates, solos him, and then dies, ending the match as a draw.
Overall I think Kakashi is a better Shinobi. Sharingan, over 1000 Jutsu and so on, but if Guy went on his 7th or 8th Gate then Kakashi would be screwed U_U

I agree with you. If Guy does manage to open up the Gates, I don't think Kakashi would be able to dodge or avoid those speedy moves/attacks of his. But I also think the two Shinobi are fairly equal in stength and skills (imo). I hope Kishi gives Kakashi a new technique as others have stated above..

Kakashi cant just run away underground, he'd have to leave a quick shadow clone which i dont think gai would miss. Also, from a gates attack shadow clone would die after the first blow so gai would not finish the move.
Kamui is a HUGE risk that in my opinion would not work out. Think about if gai moves, kakashi kamuis nothing and hes seriosuly thrown off, making him sitting duck for gai.

...All joking aside here, I feel Might Gai is often underappreciated and has just as good of a case as Kakashi and Tsunade to be Konoha's 2nd strongest. Let's go stage by stage, here -

Gai managed to actually take his weapon away along with not getting caught in such a technique. While taking his weapon away ultimately meant nothing, it showed his combat intelligence is among the best in Konoha.
