Technological inconsistencies?

So one thing I noticed one thing in Naruto that really bugs me: the presence of computers. Computers are shown in several places throughout the anime and manga including but not limited to: hospitals, Orochimaru's various hideouts, the Leaf cryptographers' office, etc. While this level of technology is present in the naruto universe, several more simple devices seem to be missing or rarely seen: radios, cars, television, etc. Instead, the shinobi tend to waste their own time and chakra to do something that a simple tool could, even though they have the tech to build it. Why use this:

Can anyone explain? Thoughts? Opinions?

They seem to have power issues. When they held the video conference between all the fuedal lords of the big five they could only stay online for a short period of time.

Kishi also stated he didnt want to have too many technologies in the series (hence no cars).

The one that doesnt make sense for sure is communicating, theyve been shown to have radio's in part one but prefer to travel to talk face to face lol.

I can only say that in the Naruto Universe scientific principles are so different that simple technologies require too much energy compared to our world. Yet at the same time allow for increadible abilities.

At the end of the day, dont think on it too much or you'll get a headache XD

Dude I'm with you and had made a similar thread a long time ago. How did they crack the human genome and yet have not invented the combustible engine, or at least a vehicle that runs on chakra, which all of these technologies seem to have as a power source. Alas I have come to accept it.

The one on top does not have the limitations of a battery. Which I guess in a war could be handy.

There is a movie in naruto where they do have vehicles running on chakra. But if you go there there is a whole scene with a train that is clearly running on coal. I wouldn't think too much about it though.

He is absolutely right; Masashi does not want that much technological advancement in the Naruto series. It also seems like that technology takes up too much power, for it to be on that long.

In one of the Kishi interviews he states that the technology is limited he said he never made guns
appear in the show or manga as far as the computers go in every instance they were used it was for communication and even then it seemed to be very time and energy consuming and the closest we seen to guns were in the 2n naruto movie when the sky ninja had machines spit out kunai like a gatling gun)
(its a fantasy/action/adventure manga alot of places have the same atmosphere take fullmetal alchemist for example in amestris instead of developing the atom bomb and advancing in technology they opted for alchemy,its a mash up thats what fantasy is all about)
