Was itachi alive then?... as for naruto asking for training, didnt sasuke ask traing for chuning exam? ask training from orochimaru? asking for training and given a power boost isnt same ...... Also itachi didnt want to give his eyes to sasuke as he planned to put sasuke under a permanent genjutsu if he was found using itachi's eyes.

I cant change the manga but i can with simple logic and duduction understand what would happen if they didnt have their power ups, its much like considering what would happen if u didnt add salt to a dish or similar. U say sharingan is the part of uchiha? ur right but doesnt that make sasuke lucky to be born uchiha? Doesnt having sharingan give u an unfair advantage over normal people who however hard may they try can never have such abilities? Is it not unfair then? A sharingan user must be compared with another sharingan user or similar to judge his capabilities, cos they will alway be above the normal. Also yes, ten ten too could have learnt sage mode if she had frog or snake summon and earned a lot of respect among them, (sasuke might have had a chance of learning SM if he didnt 'accidentally' kill manda) Can u imagine what would have happened if sasuke never was a uchiha? (just as naruto was never a jinkchuriki?) U cant compare a a normal club with a spiked club (spiked club will always cause more dange cos it got spikes). kurama may be sealed inside naruto later, it is his identity as much uchiha is sasuke's identity. try to face it naruto without kurama is weak but sasuke without sharingan is weak too..... (u need to balance the scales, u can't be one sided cos just as sasuke was luckily born to a uchiha, naruto was luckily born to jinkchuriki mother)

Also kurama was sealed in naruto bcos fourth belived his son wld keep his spirit alive and do what he others could not.

To low memory sasuke fans, this is a NARUTO WITHOUT KURAMA vs SASUKE WITHOUT SHARINGAN battle:
1. In base stats naruto still has SM
2. Without Kurama ma and pa can fuse with naruto and indefinately extend SM and also provide sauiton , genjutsu techs and can also release genjutsu if naruto falls under it. (Dont complain if sasuke's summons are not that cool)
3. Dont count on kirin, it requires stormclouds to perform. Sasuke needs hell lot of heat to form clouds, two or three katons not gona do the trick. Sasuke need a lot of time before he can use that and naruto can just blow the clouds away with wind release. Personally i would like to see a rasensuriken and kirin clash. (In fight with itachi it was more of an plot no jutsu and also had help from the extreme heat from amaterasu)
4. Naruto in sage mode has a great power boost to all jutsu, speed, endurance and a near 33% chakra boost.
5. Those who complain naruto has no base chakra check out these facts: both Gaara and Kushina had their bijuu removed, but kushina was able to hold down kurama (even tough she was exhausted) with her chakra chains and gaara can still use his sand powers effectively (even seems to be improving). In a nut shell, jinkchuriki's have high chakra even without their biju, so naruto do have high chakra as he held down kurama since birth plus he has uzumaki powers of strong chakra and life force.
6. Yes naruto needs clones to do most of his techs but needs only one for rasengan and two for rasensuriken, i think he can handle at least 3-4 clones in base mode. (Also note that when clones disappear they add their chakra to their user)
7. Without sharingan sasuke has only raiton and katon. Plus his reflexes will slower as he no longer can predict opponent's moves and genjutsu skill will be much reduced.
8. Lee once defaeted Sasuke easily (just before chunin exams), so can he do it now? past is past.

Side note:
1. Dont complain why SM is included in base form but sharingan is not, its cos SM can be LEARNT, sasuke can learn SM but naruto can never LEARN SHARINGAN.
2. B4 u call me or anyone who agrees with me a fanboy or just simply say sasuke can beat naruto bcos he is sasuke, can u prove my points wrong? OR in anyway prove why naruto is not at least an equal (if not greater than) of sasuke, even in base mode?

again Sage Mode & 8 gate technique can be learned by hard work. But you just cant learn Sharingan by hardwork. Simple logic

Hey! the moment one believes that sasuke can no longer match up with naruto, he should quit watching this series.
It is naruto who always tries to catch up to sasuke. If he crosses sasuke forever, there will be no passion, no aim, no direction for him and thus the end.

I wont say sasuke was better in the past but current sasuke and naruto are quite equal, plus didnt u see my post above? Also in team 7 reunion sasuke was not using sharingan power and naruto was not in sagemode and they tied, so currently they are equals no?

One of the most wise analysis.... but do notice i said 'most' of them not all ... yes sasuke suffered, so did nagato, naruto and countless others but it is our choices that show who we truly are? cicumstances makes the man but only if it manages to break him first.
