I'm sure it uses minimal chakra. But it is a sort of summoning technique so it has to use some chakra. He used it in the war to kill countless people so I'm sure he has pretty good chakra reserves. I also say this because he was able to summon the Boss Toad, which from watching J-Man/Naruto it takes ALOT of chakra to do this.

he cant go to outer space unless he uses ftg level 2. throws kunia teleports to it, then throws again etc.... but he can spam ftg

It took 3, which shows the level of the jutsu....3 jounins to perform a jutsu which minato spams everytime..
Also they used FTG ON mizukage & teleported her TO tsunade,because tsunade had the ftg mark.

Although we can easely assume that just teleporting himself the chakra required is not that much, he was able to take out an entire platoon, teleporting numerous times taking out all of those ninjas.
And besides that, while fighting tobi he used it several times, he also used the S/T barrier to teleport Kurama's blast, he was still able to summon Gamabunta and perform those seals. This is proof that he has a pretty big chakra reserve and that FTG doesn't require so much chakra if he isn't transporting something BIG.

When minato was about to teleport the fox he commented that he needed to master up a lot of chakra to teleport it. This mustve took quiet a chunck of his chakra even though where he teleported it wasnt that great of a distance. If he was to teleprot the fox to lets say the sand village, im certain he'd be on 0 chakra.

The way he normally uses it although it takes chakra it wouldnt take that much because he spams it around the battlefield therefore there isnt much distance. Also he isnt big enough for the technique to take a huge toll on his chakra

Thanks for the rep, but assumption, how so?. Chakra depletion is dependant on size and distance in relation to s/t techniques

its only dependent on size, distance is irrelevant.
