Why din't Tobirama help Hashirama??

I'm pretty sure Hashirama must've had a hell of a hard time fighting Madara. I wonder why Tobirama wasn't there to help? Tobirama could have been VERY useful in that battle. He could nullify Madara's Katon and maybe help fight the Kyubi? Idk. He was a pretty strong shinobi too and I'm sure he was a genius too since he created the S/T and Edo Tensei.

nidaime was also a boss, of course he could have helped a lot. but we don't know much about what exactly happened.

tobirama may be away from the village, not knowing what's going on.
or hashirama might've feared that while he's away something may happen to konoha so in order for the safety of the village he might've left tobirama to take care of it.

Maybe because Madara only challenged Hashirama for the leadership of the villige. I would say honur had alot to do with it. If the leader gets challenged he has to by all rights except that challenge.I could be wrong, that's just my theory. Living in an era such as theres it just makes sense to me.

no it certainly wasn't a challange or a battle of honor. because mito was there and also there's kyuubi. if it was a battle of honor neither of them should be there.

mito was the one who sealed kyuubi. if so she has to be there. I don't think she foght alongside hashirama but she helped him.

edit: tobirama doesn't have to be a bad guy since he created ET. he must've trying to bring either hashirama or someone he loved back to life. and when he realized that in order for the technique to be complete he needed a human sacrifice, he branded the technique as a kinjutsu.

and of course there is also a chance that ET was actually an old technique that was hidden in the darkness, and brought to light by tobirama. the only base for this statement is for madara to know about the tehcnique and it's purpose
