I really don't see what kind of role she will have in the rest of the manga. Suigetsu and juugo have roles, as it seems they will deliver something to sasuke and possibly have an encounter with their respective brothers (suigetsu with mangetsu and juugo with kimimaro). Despite their plot developments, I don't see any need for Karin, yet kishi shows that she is going to somehow escape from prison.

Maybe she wants to escape so she can get revenge on Sasuke for trying to kill her? That or she's just not that significant for the story, or her purpose will be revealed later on *shrugs* To be honest, I don't care for Karin.
And I doubt Naruto is going to get together with Karin LOL I even doubt she made an impression on him XD

She can sense Chakra, she was feeling Sasukes darkness and new something was about to happen... on the next page Sasuke crushes Danzo like an egg lol
She doesnt have time to be shocked at that tho because Danzo was still alive (Izanagi)

As for the thread, Yeah Karin will be heading to the battlefield too. Probably to shout at Sasuke for cutting through her, hopefully Sasuke would have changed abit by then and she wont be able to stay mad because she'll feel his 'normal' chakra
