There are a couple of ways to end Madara or edo tensi in general. One is to seal them of completely, the other is to target their emotions.

Madara is a self craving power tier level kage, top rank among Uchiha, and will stop at nothing until he gets what he wants. Full power and to control the five nations. The only way to stop all of this is to confront him with the source of his weakness. His younger brother, and the first Kage. If the first Hokage and Izuna both confront him, then he will know peace and leave this world.

The First will Hokage is nice enough to tell him that he is powerful and he should have been the "First Hokage" and not him. Izuna would tell him that he forgives Madara for betraying him and cares for him. Madara will eventually give in to his emotions and free himself of the guilt he has been caring all this time. Eventually, his soul will leave the world of the living. This is one way to end edo tensi.

Although plausible, I find that particular scenario considerably unlikely as Hashirama and Izuna have both been dead for years. But in the world of Naruto, anything is possible really.
