Chapter 7: The Demon and the Dragon’s Fangs Part 1
Tsunade hesitated, her mind racing, trying to weigh the current stakes. Naruto’s life is equally as important as theirs, yet her heart tightened at the thought of giving out the vital information, considering that the man they’re facing might be a member of the Akatsuki, a subordinate of the man who declared war against the Ninja World, Uchiha Madara.
As she pondered her decision, Rouzuke was already preparing himself for the carnage. He observed all of his surrounding opponents, taking notes of their chakra signatures and analysing possible counterattacks from them. After a few more moments, he smirked as he slowly lifted his sleeveless right arm over his shoulder.
He held on one of the handles that were part of the linen-wrapped things he has been carrying, and in an instant, the bandages came off from it and covered his right arm with one end while being attached to the weapon at the other end. It has a black handle with a trigger guard near the hilt, with a large golden tooth at one end and a blade at the other end. Tsunade noticed the word “Fang” engraved on one side of the blade and “Blade” on the other. Lining the length of the top of the blunt edge of the blade was a muzzle under a design of a pyramid-shaped protective covering, with the silver barrel housing revealed as it approached the hilt. The hilt itself, which was adorned with a clear gem on each side, had two fang-shaped designs that face outwards in an opposite direction. The blade, which was made of magnesium alloy plated with gold, has a curved edge on the sharper side of it, giving the tip the shape reminiscent of a small sickle. The muzzle housing, hilt and the surrounding base were covered with pure white wolf fur. Rouzuke broke Tsunade’s concentration on the weapon.
“Hey, if you have time to ogle at my Fang Blade, you better tell me where Uzumaki Naruto is now,” Rouzuke announced, while lifting his sleeved left arm over his shoulder in an attempt to pull out his other weapon. “Or have you already decided to go against me?”
Hibiki took this as a signal to attack. Using his Swift Release, he swung his naginata at Rouzuke. At first, he thought his attack connected, yet his opponent easily parried the blade with the other weapon. The linen came off, and wrapped itself around Rouzuke’s left arm. Hibiki jumped back to his position as if nothing happened.
The other weapon had a shape similar to a dragon’s claw. The silver handle was wrapped with green silk and formed diamond-shaped patterns through its length. The end of the handle had two golden shuriken attached to the base by a gleaming gem. The hand guard was made of two gold claws attached to the blade in opposite directions, with the sharper ends pointing at a counter-clockwise direction. The blade itself was silver, with the first curve of the blade coming from the hilt, and the tip of that side ending in a sickle-shaped protrusion, while its opposite side protrudes in an opposite direction. On the opposite side of the first curve of the blade features the only short blunt side of the whole blade, with the remaining edges maintained in sharp state. Seven clear gems lined on each face of the blade followed the shape of the blade itself, as if it forms the backbone of the weapon. The words “Dragon” and “Sword” are engraved on each face of the weapon.
“Alright, you’ve made me wait long enough, Lady Big-Bust,” Rouzuke began, his impatience coating every syllable of his words. “I will ask you for the last time. Where is Uzumaki Naruto now?”
“Lady Tsunade!” one of the masked ANBU yelled, catching her attention as she appeared to be willing to speak already. “Don’t listen to him! Please flee from the field for now! We will take care of this scum!”
“You,” Rouzuke intervened, somehow teleporting behind the ANBU group, his left arm already in a swinging motion just as Hibiki followed suit in an attempt to block the assault in vain. “Just shut the hell up!”
A heavy swing of the massive blade and the head of the ANBU flew into the air with a sickening sound. Hibiki lunged his naginata through Rouzuke’s head but missed by inches. The latter retreated a few steps back, but Hibiki continued his lunge attacks without hesitation, not letting his opponent weave any seals.
“LADY TSUNADE!” Shizune shouted, taking advantage of the commotion. “Let’s leave this to them! We have to alert the other countries!”
Tsunade nodded with uncertainty and both retreated towards Sunagakure, about to ask their nearest allied village for help.
“Oh no, you won’t!” Rouzuke broke from Hibiki’s futile attacks and tried to pursue the two, yet three or more ANBU members blocked his path with a combination of Earth Release and Water Release.
Rouzuke aimed his right arm at the muddy wall, pulled the trigger, and fired a Fire Release: Fireball on the wall, and burst his way towards Tsunade and Shizune. The two expressed fears as their adversary gained on them. But Hibiki was far from finished, as he pulled out his scroll and summoned chains that bound Rouzuke, hereby stopping the latter from continued pursuit of the two.
“You bastard!” Rouzuke yelled at Hibiki, his shades featuring glowing murderous eyes. “Don’t interfere!”
With brute strength, Rouzuke managed to break away from the binding chains, but lost sight of his targets. He burst out a deafening roar of anger and darted towards Hibiki, who pulled down his blindfold.
“AMATERASU!”
Black flames erupted towards Rouzuke’s face, yet Rouzuke brandished his Dragon Sword, with the gems starting to gleam red, and the blade burst to flames. Its owner swung it, creating a Fire Release wave that hit the incoming Amaterasu flames. Rouzuke followed up with his Fang Blade, aiming it at Hibiki and firing another Fire Release ball that exploded just as the latter dodged the attack in mid-air.
It was a diversion, as Rouzuke used his Swift Release to get behind Hibiki, in an attempt to behead his opponent with his huge sword. Hibiki turned to his back, and his eyes expressed fear immediately as the attack seemed to cut through air with unbelievable speed. But the blade never got through him. Instead he noticed a blur of navy blue and in an instant Rouzuke went crashing down on the earth with a loud crash.
“Die you ****ing piece of shit!”
Hibiki’s eyes darted towards the voice and he was filled with relief, as he saw Hitomi smirking on top of one of the forest trees. But the happy moment lasted only a few seconds as Rouzuke was back on his feet, having protected himself from actual damage with his Steel Release.
Hibiki met Hitomi’s gaze and both exchanged nods. The former yelled to the ANBU members, the chunin and jounin to scatter, while throwing to the latter his scroll.
Hitomi unrolled the caught scroll and landed on a safe area, then started to weave hand seals. Hibiki lifted his naginata over his head, preparing for a powerful counterattack. He channelled his chakra through the weapon, with the blade suddenly glowing and materializing into a larger shape. He aimed the pointed end to the ground, to Rouzuke.
“Sword Style: Demon Banisher!”
The ground collapsed completely after the attack collided with Rouzuke. Hibiki knew it wasn’t over. Sure enough, Rouzuke was still standing, both of his blades protecting him from Hibiki’s naginata. But it wasn’t the block that surprised Hibiki. It was the method that he found queer and scary. The linen wraps were somehow flowing with chakra, the ends connecting from Rouzuke’s arms to the weapons. That way, it made it easier for Rouzuke to weave seals, with his hands unoccupied with the weapons.
Hibiki sensed danger as the floating weapons broke away from him, and pushed him back. Another array of chains shot from Hitomi’s general direction and bound themselves to Rouzuke’s weapons, but the latter didn’t seem to be fazed by this.
“You bastards,” he muttered, his cracked shades falling to the ground, revealing his murderous eyes and an aura started to form around him. “Just how long will you continue to interfere with my plans, damn you all!”
