Hawks were probably his natural animal affinity before being dowsed in Orochimaru's snakes. If you perform the Summoning Technique without a contract then you get reverse summoned to the area of the animal you have an affinity with.

As for Blaze Release, people need to get this straight. It is not some fusion element. It is Amaterasu' flames, period. He's using Amaterasu with his MS and then using shape manipulation. This isn't hard to understand. Whether you like it or not, Sasuke is and has always been a natural born genius.
