I think it's like the nine tails, where even if it's killed it will be resurrected. You can't really kill a pure chakra demon. (Assuming the 10 tails really is just a chakra monster like the tailed beasts.)

he wouldnt want the juubi rampaging after hes gone and the power in his blood line has grown thin, better to split its power so it can exist in a way that wouldnt wreck the planet

Supposedly, but it doesn't sit well with me. A random guy just happens to have enough power to take down something as powerful as all the Tailed Beast put together? Hate it when that happens. I was thinking he brought somehing to help him defeat it. but that's just me.

I too have many questions regarding SO6P...
1) How did he became so strong,I mean, all those powers to suppress 10 tails,make the moon, create 9 living beasts from just the chakra of 10 tails ? I simply think he's just too much hyped.
2) How did he get those 5 sacred tools ?
3) If he was so strong, how can he die of old age ?? I mean, if he can create life form from chakra,why cant he keep himself immortal ?

About the question in the thread, ten tails also seem to have a rebirth after killing it, the same way it works for other tailed beasts...so the only way to stop ten tails,is to make it pure....something naruto will end up doing.

Kishi could have it in mind. The bijuu can neither be killed nor destroyed but sealed. He divided the power of the bijuu because he thought nobody could control it when he dies. But prophecised that one day, a shinobi will be born to take good care and unite them again the way he did
