If u look back at part 1 of naruto we can see what orochimarus main goal was, to gain a sharingan right?
He tried to get sasuke and what not. Now what got me thinking. Is why wud oro want the sharingan? Think about it, oro was a member of akatsuki he knew of pain and his rennigan, he knew of the byakugan and it's abilities. So why the sharingan? Well as we all can assume it was to get the mangekyo sharingan. But we can't forget that oro knew pain and knew he had the rennigan, so why not try to take over nagatos body to obtain renigan. Well the obvious answer to that wud be he just plain isn't strong enough. Now as we all know oro was always trying to get stronger, learn knew techniques and wat not. And he learned a lot! So what we can conclude from that is oro is good at learning knew info. Since oro is constantly trying to get stronger he must've been thinking of ways he cud obtain the rennigan. My theory is that he checked through the other doujutsus and in his searchings he found the nankano shrine and found out that from the sharingan one can get to the renigan. Which wud explain his obsession with getting sasuke as a vessel.
Now why I think sasuke will get the rennigan is bcuz of the scroll suigetsu picked up in ore's hideout. I believe that holds the info tht oro gathered on how to activate the rennigan thru the sharingan.
Suigetsu will give the scroll to sasuke and bcuz if plot no jutsu sasuke will gain the rennigan in order to balance him and naruto out.
