I don't understand Izanagi!!!???

First of all i'm sorry for making an Izanagi thread i say(technically write) this because a lot of people have made a lot of threads with this theme (and now i am one of them xd) and i am tired of this and most of the threads that people make about Izanami and Izanagi i don't bother reading:D

But the reason i made this thread is because i don't understand this when they have only two sharingans? (and after the use the two sharingan will go blind... this means that they can use izanagi only two times)

The only way Izanagi can be used more than 2 times is if you start scavenging/stealing the eyes of other Uchiha members. But that scenario is impractical if lots of Uchiha spammed Izanagi. The only way it can seem practical is if it was only very few of the Uchiha that made use of Izanagi.

It's look like Itachi is saying that the first and second(last) time someone must use izanagi is in battle (that's the only place it must be used!:D) if you use it outside of battle once you are a arrogant person :D hahahahaha i said once because if you use it two times you will be blind and a very very arrogant person but then what's the point of making Izanami for a blind person who will never use(Izanagai) again!?

then why put him in Izanami when you can kill him right there?

Can it be that, given the Uchiha tradition of stealing each others eyes, whether the ones that went blind kind of replaced their eyes?

The manga did imply few Uchihas mastered the technique, it was not used ~inflationary~ 24/7 but in critical battles that mustn't be lost - I bet being able to decide over others destiny in battle can turn you a wee bit arrogant :)

well they will kill each other to get the eyes and there would be massacre

plus with Izanagi they can win an impossible fight so Uchiha clan will get arrogant that they can face anyone

Thats a good question.

It might be that its very difficult to kill someone that uses Izanagi. Izanami makes it easy to defeat someone who's arrogant and relies on Izanagi for victory. Plus, it rehabilitates the transgressor.

(p.s. One could say that a sharingan is an Uchiha's most sacred possession. You would think that the stealing of a fellow member's sharingan would be punishable by death. I wonder if it was?)

To just 'kill' someone sounds conflict to the nature of Izanami, which was introduced to us as one of the (rare?) jutsus which's main intend is not to kill, but to teach a moral lesson, to reason an overboarding fellow clan member. Sure you would not want to risk a good eye for some douche bag, so it must have been used during very critical situations -

e.g. the way it is used on Kabuto makes sense in such a way that they think of a way to stop him without risking to kill him before they stop EdoTensei, so such a moralist teachning jutsu that just 'traps' the opponent without killing him, leaving them an option to get out of the loop alive.

I am wondering if one who is trapped in Izanami and is not to reason in any way could go crazy and die from insanity caused by the eternal loop? :D

I covered something like this in my thread on why Izanami wasnt created for use but as a deterrent. As for why would an Uchiha become arrogant when they can use the ability only twice, well that seems simple to me. Like Izanami, Izanagi again isnt meant to just be used whenever BUT it does have the ability to change fate. When you add everything together, just knowing Izanagi is enough for an Uchiha to become arrogant even if it is never used.
A basic Sharingan user can predict movements, copy Jutsu and cast Genjutsu. This elevated the Uchiha beyond elite status in the Ninja world. Then add that they were one of the most powerful clans, finally tell someone how to change the outcome of a battle with Izanagi. All this together could easily turn someone arrogant on the battlefield.

Just knowing is enough!

I agree with your . But still it doesn't answer my question .. How can someone use it too much when the maximum is two times!? that's absurd and Itachi is not someone who talk senseless things that's why i made this thread to see what you guys think about this

Your right he does state (Atleast in the translation anyway)

"Its users became arrogant and used it too much for themselves"

I can only speculate but its possibly either they would harvest eyes from fallen Uchiha or the Clan would do it for them. In my thread I mentioned they were a close community and before Khonoha they went through a period of expansion by absorbing lesser clans. Its probable that in the beginning using Izanagi wasnt frowned upon too much as its effects werent fully understood, the clan may have ensured that all Sharingan users were kept in a battle ready state by replacing eyes with those of the dead or lesser clan members. As such they became increasingly arrogant (but this is speculation)

Someone also mentioned that the Clan may have stockpiled the eyes like Tobi has.

a different translation. It came out a bit later and should therefore be more reliable. It says something completely different. Instead of it says .

The rampage version makes a lot more sense. Basically what it says is that Izanagi's ability to "erase mistakes" would make people overconfident before entering battle. Which caused them to act recklessly in battle and fight without regard for any consequences.
