Tobi and Danzo Theory

Tobi knew that he could not cast a genjutsu on the 4th mizukage, as she was a perfect jinchuuriki like bee. So tobi struck a deal with danzo, that he would setup the chain of events for the uchiha's destruction in exchange for using KA for tobi's purposes. (Yagura obeying every command tobi gave her). Take into consideration that as part of the main plot, the sanbi wouldn't of detected it as it would not work with the story itself.

The chain of events were that the Kyuubi would attack konoha, the uchiha would be blamed for it, the uchiha would feel betrayed and want too overtake konoha, and thus the uchiha clan would be destroyed.

Danzo wanted the Uchiha relocated and or destroyed, as he initially blamed them for the Nine Tails attack. This benefited Danzo so he decided to use KA on yagura and created the "bloody mist". The bloody mist is very similair to Root training as the comrades would be forced to kill each other. Giving possibility to a link between Danzo and the Mist, also the fact that Mei stated that she couldn't help but feel a similar genjutsu was used on Yagura.

Since the genjutsu is un-detectable, the Sanbi was unaware of it and did not break her out thus creating the chaos of krikagure.

Also to take into consideration, that Mei had just recently become the mizukage so I would assume within the last 2.5-5 years. That is around the same time period the akatsuki started their hunt for the tailed beast, and killed off yagura for it.

It can be also The Fifth Mizukage commented that she couldn't help but conclude that there was a connection between Kotoamatsukami and the power that controlled Yagura, the Fourth Mizukage.

The only flaw I have is why Danzo would want the Uchiha gone in the first place. I couldn't find motive behind that, eventually I will one day but for now this is my theory lol. Maybe Uchiha killed his father and fathers father before the villages were created, as danzo did state they died in the battlefields and since danzo was alive during the 1st world war, it can be safely assumed that his lineage fought prior to the formation of the ninja villages.

Or Danzo has nothing to do with it maybe Tobi know Kotoamatsukami because we know that he knows alot about the Sharingan and the MS techniques

That's plausible as well, I'm just trying to make theories off somewhat concrete facts. Shisui was the only one noted for having that jutsu, and if both his eyes are taken by danzo and itachi then it leads me to believe that tobi didn't have it. Maybe another uchiha had the same power back then.

We don't know if Tobi has the MS but we know that he is a uchiha
