The Uchiha Clan Appearance and Personality:
Light Yagami has chestnut hair, sharp, calculating toffee-colored eyes, skin tanned slightly with his Asian heritage and a rounded, almost cherubic face and thin, but slightly built body from his ninja training. In every sense of the word, Light's appearance is what might be considered the embodiment of perfection. He tends to dress very neatly, and is usually seen wearing his school uniform or a suit when not on missions. He is considered to be quite handsome, a trait noted by Misa Amane, among numerous others. He is considered to be a brilliant honorable ninja, and one of the greatest Uchiha of his generation. Though he may seem calm and collected, when faced with someone he deems to be "evil", he quickly changes his composure from calm to that of a maniacal killer. He is extremely egotistical, to the point of developing a God-like complex. He is plagued by the Curse of Hatred, showing great contempt toward his nemeses, L. Lawliet, Jiraiya the Toad Sage, and numerous others.
He is, in a sense, a sociopath. He is always putting on a superficial charm, in an attempt to befriend all who he meets when, in reality, he is investigating them. He is a pathological liar to the extent that he may seem completely innocent. He also holds deep-seated rage, which is split off and repressed at the core. Light does not see others around him as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, he has victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and he lets nothing stand in his way. When showing what seems to be warmth, joy, love, and compassion, it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. He is often outraged by trivial and insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since his emotions are often not genuine, neither are his promises. He is unable to empathize with the pain of his victims, having only contempt for others' feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them. Light is not concerned about wrecking others' lives and dreams. He is oblivious or indifferent to the devastation caused. He does not accept blame, but blames others, even for acts he obviously committed.
Light is very contemptuous of those who seek to understand him, believing them to be working against him and his means. He is also very secretive, and has an emotional need to justify their crimes and therefore needs their victim's affirmation (respect, gratitude, and love). With the exception of Misa Amane, he is seemingly incapable of real human attachment to another, unable to feel remorse or guilt and has extreme narcissism and grandiose. All in all, he is a vigilante hidden among the the every-day population.

Being the narcissistic man he is, Light needs a God-like attack and defense mechanism to back up his raw speed and strength. After mastering Lightning Release, Light began to focus on making the techniques more efficient for use in battle. After years of vigorous, tear-wrenching training, he managed to further himself into the element, now able to perform the jutsu with less hand seals as well as perform the jutsu more efficiently.
Hummingbird Summonings and Jutsu:
As the sole owner of the Hummingbird Contract, Light has learned much from the elders of the Hachidori Realm. First, he trained for years in order to master the summoning techniques and jutsu of the Hachidori people, often coming across their rival toad adversaries from the Gama Realm. Inspired by what the Hachidori called "the Sage Mode of the Gama Realm", Light set out to create a similar jutsu for the Hachidori people. The resulting jutsu became known as "Roshida Mode". After mastering his newly created art, Light became able to simply call upon the Hachidori by name to summon them, similarly to his adversary and rival Jiraiya, the Gama Sage. All-in-all, the majestic and graceful winged birds add further to his divine abilities.

Light, being the man he is, is very interested in sciences; both fictional and physical. He studied in the arts of the Uchiha Clan - as well as all other existing clans for research purposes - due to his great interest in living specimens, often experimenting on criminals with new ways to kill and obliterate enemies in his quest to overcome evil.

The Uchiha clan ( うちは一族, Uchiha Ichizoku ) was one of the four noble clans of Konohagakure, but is now almost extinct after the events of the clan massacre. The Uchiha clan descended from the elder of the two sons of the Sage of the Six Paths. The elder brother inherited the Sage's "eyes", powerful chakra and spiritual abilities. When it came time for the Sage to choose a successor, he questioned the two on what course of action they would follow to bring order to the world. The elder believed that power was the way to bring peace, while the younger believed love was the way. The Sage favoured the ideal of the younger brother, and therefore designated the younger as his successor, causing the elder to be filled with jealousy and hate. From this hate came what Tobi calls the Curse of Hatred ( 憎しみの呪い, Nikushimi no Noroi ). From the younger son descended the Senju clan who would be the eternal rivals of the Uchiha.
Before the founding of the ninja villages, the Uchiha were one of the many mercenary clans for hire. Because of their Sharingan, the Uchiha clan came to be known as one of the two strongest clans, the other being the Senju clan. Madara Uchiha was particularly powerful, and, upon attaining the Mangekyō Sharingan, he took control of the clan. Under his leadership the Uchiha grew stronger, conquering whatever clans they came upon, such that, whenever the Uchiha clan was hired for a job, the opposing side would hire the Senju, and vice versa.
Uchiha's Abilities:
The Uchiha were famous for their powerful chakra, exceptionally strong techniques, and natural aptitude for anything combat-related. The clan possessed a proficiency in fire techniques, having created several and using them more skilfully than any other. Their signature technique was the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique. Clan members were not recognized as adults by the rest of the clan until they could successfully use this technique. The Uchiha were also highly known for their mastery of ninja tools. They themselves invented many shuriken move sets which required the use of thin metal wires, one example being the Windmill Triple Blades technique.
The Uchiha clan were most feared for their powerful Sharingan, a kekkei genkai which gives them the ability to see the "colors" of chakra, allowing them to analyze and copy their opponent's skills, along with a number of other abilities. Only a select few members of the Uchiha clan manifested the Sharingan. Due to their natural affinity for battle, and their proficiency with eye Genjutsu, many ninjas considered it more tactically favorable to flee rather than face an Uchiha shinobi in one-on-one combat. Among the techniques granted by the Sharingan, the Izanagi is deemed to be forbidden, due to it rendering the user blind in exchange for temporarily manipulating reality and fantasy within the user's own personal space, such as turning injuries and even death inflicted upon the user into mere illusions. Though the clan was feared for their Sharingan, the eyes have also been transplanted into various characters outside the clan.
Madara Uchiha was the first to develop an advanced form of the Sharingan, the Mangekyō Sharingan, which can be activated by the pain of losing close friends or family members. However, frequent use of the Mangekyō Sharingan deteriorates the user's eyesight and results in blindness. Only by taking the eyes of a sibling can one's vision be restored, a process that results in the creation of an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan (永遠の万華鏡写輪眼, Eien no Mangekyō Sharingan). Itachi indicated that the intricacies of the Mangekyō Sharingan were only discovered after years of trial and error, implying that many Uchiha throughout history had made the attempt to gain the Mangekyō Sharingan.
One member of the clan, Madara, had managed to awaken the Rinnegan, shortly before his death. As it has been hinted that this was a natural evolution of the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, there remains the potential for others in possession of the latter to awaken the ability too. However, the exact requirements involved in this process have yet to be disclosed.
Statistical Knowledge:
Light is a very cautious and careful man in his attacking methods, and always walked into battle prepared. Light was has a vast statistical knowledge from analyzing his victims from a distance. After years of observation, he gathered this information together to form concrete plans to defeat any opponent. Light also has a vast knowledge of the body, especially of sensitive points and vital points. He used this knowledge to assist himself when formulating plans for battle. Inspired by the ninja Kabuto, he encoded a deck of cards with his chakra to display this information, allowing him and only him to access knowledge the records.
Arsenal:
Light, being an Uchiha, has a large arsenal of weapons at his disposal, ranging from long-ranged Kusarigama and Shuriken to all-purpose throwing knives and senbon. He stores many in scrolls to summon these weapons at a moments notice. He also carries at least two swords at his sides at all times, but prefers to weild his triple-bladed custom-made black scythe, made for him by the legendary swordsman and blacksmith known as Muramasa. He also has three main weapons in his arsenal other than this that he carries on his person, which are elaborated upon below. Aside from these, he keeps numerous weapons and raw materials in scrolls. These range everywhere from the short-ranged and heavy broadsword to long long-ranged and light-weight kusarigama.

Like, like most Uchiha, wears a form of armor most of the time. Unlike most Uchiha, he wears a full body armor suit made of steel and iron, providing resistance to head-on attacks of strength. The armor covers his eyes with a one-way see-through mesh in order to prevent others from seeing his eyes but allowing him to see others clearly.

Much like his armor, Light's sword and Bo Staff are also made of steel and iron, although he prefers and primarily uses his scythe due to its superior strength.
Background Info.
History:
Light Yagami was born in the Village of Konohagakure to the member of the Konohagakure Police, Yashiro Uchiha. His father insinuated into his core beliefs a sense of great justice. During the Uchiha Massacre, he was out on a mission in Kumogakure, coming home only to find his entire family - his entire clan - dead. Thinking that logically whoever did this may seek him out as well, he quickly left the village, fleeing to Kumogakure. Shaken by the events he had witnessed, his sense of justice increased thousandfold, creating the belief that criminals - specifically Itachi Uchiha - should die painful deaths for their offenses.
While in Kumogakure, he learned of numerous new criminals via his ninja occupation. One by one, he searched down every single criminal wanted dead or dead or alive, according to Kumogakure's bingo book. Even after successfully killing each one, violence still plagued the ninja world. Taking on the alias "Kira", the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "Killer", he began to kill of living criminals that were wanted to be kept alive. He attracted the attention of many, including L. Lawliet, and his beloved, Misa Amane.
