since the new chapter came out every body has been prasing Itachi's izanami but if you compare koto and iznami the only advantage iznami has over koto is that it affects the user regardless of their five senses.From possible theories that i've hear izanami only has the ability To cast the victim under genjustu without eye contact nothing more While koto can manipulate the victim and use them how effectively the user chosses

When you say controls fate I remember Itachi telling kabuto that he has his destiny but kabuto will decide it meaning its not the user who decides the victims destiny

Koto has more applications and is more versatile but izanami is a tech that is only used as a last resort like izanagi. So izanami is more powerful but is much less versatile.

umm I dont think izanami is a last resort but What you are saying is true but Iznami cant be used to extract intel or do anyhting but place the victim under genjustu while koto can Manupulate the victim a get intel without the victim even knowing hes' under genjustu

izanami is stil controlled by the opponent as far as we know. koto is total mind control which makes the enemy think its their own thoughts. theres no way they can tell they were ever put in any genjutsu as it plants false images that the enemy thinks are real. both cant be avoided but koto is deadlier
