Izanagi/mi are NOT OP TECHNIQUES:
I am writing this thread b/c people are having "mixed reviews" of these new Uchiha techniques. More specifically, many people are calling the Uchiha "EXTREMELY OP" with these two new techniques at their disposal. Some people have even called Itachi the new "God of Shinobi" ?!? WTF???
The only reason Itachi is currently using this technique is because A) He's Edo, B) He wants to die (release Edo) and has no intention on continuing to fight anyone, including Kabuto. As much as I love Itachi (and somewhat like the Uchiha as a whole), I need to bring up a few points about his new jutsu.
It is not OP at all; its actually counter productive in the long run to a shinobi that is not committing suicide, and I will prove this with the (10) bullet points below:
1) Izanagi/mi were labeled KINJUTSUS. Why...? B/c...
UNLESS YOU ARE AN EDO, OR AN SHARIGAN COLLECTING FREAK LIKE TOBI, IT CRIPPLES YOU AS AN UCHIHA SHINOBI. You are no longer able to use the MS/EMS techniques that they covet so hard.
2) Use of these techniques "seals" the eye of the user. This was proved with Tobi/Danzou using Izanagi. Except for the possibility of an Edo (Itachi) being able to REGENERATE SEALED EYES after using a Kinjutsu, the sealing of an eye also has the effects of the following points:
3) Sussano'o is possibly LOST FOREVER. This is a technique that requires TWO MS EYES to activate. Even if an Uchiha was able to get another eye after the 1st was sealed, it has to be an MS eye. Furthermore, even if another MS eye is acquired (HOW???) it STILL MIGHT NOT give the user the ability to use Sussano'o again. B/c it would mean these are literally two different MS Eyes from two different shinobi. I doubt you can use Sussano'o with only one MS eye or 2 Different MS eyes, but i could be wrong.
(Note: In Itachi's case, he might also lose his "Legendary Weapons" if he is no longer able to use Sussano'o. Think about it.)
4) Tsukuyomi/Amaretsu is possibly LOST FOREVER. Activating MS gives the user a new power in those eyes, so in Kakashi's case (for example) he'd lose the ability to do Kamui. Depending on if you use Izanagi/mi, either the left eye or the right eye is sealed forever. Which means the MS technique that can be used in that eye is forever lost.
(Note: I do understand that this may only apply to Itachi/Sasuke b/c no one else has proven to have the ability to do Tsuku/Amar techniques.)
5) If you ever did manage to get MS again, it would be severly limited. This is b/c you'd eventually lose the light in it, so you could only use your new MS techniques sparingly, unless you wanna go blind like Itachi/Madara/Sasuke.
6) Theory: It is possible that EMS also grants you NEW techniques outside of the MS techniques. This has yet to be proven/disproven b/c Sasuke has not fought at his potential yet and neither has Madara--the only two shinobi ever with EMS (so far in manga). If so... you'd also lose these "unknown" techniques, if they exist lol.
7) Also, if you obtain new sharigan eyes.... AND upgrade them to MS somehow... The likelyhood that you will find someone else COMPATIBLE with MS eyes to get EMS is HIGHLY UNLIKELY. The Uchiha killed many Shinobi trying to attempt this in the past, it is NOT an easy feat.
8) Theory: The Rinnegan upgrade is forever lost. In Sasuke's case (for example) using Izanagi/mi would POSSIBLY exclude him from ever being able to get the Rinnegan. This is assuming you need BOTH eyes to upgrade. This is also assuming you need EMS in order to get a Rinnegan. Madara/Sasuke are the only people shown to EVER obtain a EMS... so the likelyhood that he would get another one is slim-to-none.
9) After using Izanagi/mi, you would seal that eye. In the middle of a battle, this means using this sort of technique could be counter productive if it doesn't KILL your opponent. Afterwards, you will have less Jutsus, one less eye, HUGE loss of chakra, and still forced to continue to fight. You really should only use this sort of technique when fighting ONE PERSON b/c if there are more than one opponent, you are left open for attack afterwards.
10) Izanagi can only be used once, unless your name is Danzou the Circus Eye Freak. LOL. Izanami can only be used on one person at a time (assumption, a good one though) so you are left open to attack while this jutsu is activated. You would literally have to find a work around for the reason its labeled a Kinjutsu--either being Edo or having 1000 Eyes on deck like Tobi. But as i have previously listed, there are STILL problems if this were true. See above points.
If you disagree with any of the points above stating that these techniques are COUNTER PRODUCTIVE IN THE LONG RUN, or still believe that Izanagi/mi are OP, please show manga proof in your arguement posts.
