Actually that thread where the op claimed he was no1 was a troll thread which shouldnt be taken seriously.
Anyway after reading and digesting the technique i believe izanami started when itachi used a karasu bunshin to fool kabuto who in turn stabbed it. That is where izanami was activated at chapter 580 i think and if you go back to the rewinds of izanami thats basically where the illusion starts all the time.
Where it ends is when itachi gets cut in half, so contrary to popular beliefs izanami was started a lot earlier than majority of people thought.
Anyway i still agree that it takes long to prepare, but you see itachi has other techniques besides izanami to defeat the strongest of opponents or stall them enough to use izanami. Saying this is believe against people like, eod madara, tobi, hashirama, naruto and nagato, itachi might not have the abilities to hold them off long enough with his other techniques to use izanami. But against other strong characters like mu for example, i believe itachi can either defeat him without izanami because he has what it takes, or stall him long enough to use izanami.
So basically apart from madara, bm naruto, tobi, nagato and hashirama, yes i believe itachi can either defeat any other opponent without izanami or stall them enough to use izanami.
I also agree that itachi's izanami isnt completed and ive said all along and even made a thread. Either izanami or izanami are uchiha kinjutsu's which uchiha's can use without senju or hashirama dna. But if an uchiha uses it by themselves, the are not complete so to speak therefore neither is their technique. Non uchiha with sharingan need to boost their energy to use either techniques i believe and even that its incomplete. True uchiha's with hahsirama dna are complete therefore they can use the complete versions of either technique.
