The third's fight with Orochimaru

Something bothers me about the third's fight with Orochimaru. The Sound four used Four Violet Flames Battle Encampment to seal Hiruzen in and everyone else out of the fight.

But with them sitting in place holding the barrier on the inside why didn't Hiruzen attack one of them to allow aid to come in before this

I mean he had obviously thought about escape and Him and Orochimaru had been sitting on that rooftop for 2 and a half chapters

He could have had help from Jonin like Kurenai, Asuma, and Gai (Gai wasn't even using his gates during the attack). There are countless Anbu at his service. Instead he settled on suicide.
It seems this was an opportune moment to attack one of the sound four

I'm sure a simple shuriken to the base of the neck could have distracted them enough to release the barrier or this

At which point they'd be more focused on survival than the barrier.
Does anyone find this to be odd?

I know they did it two chapters after the original barrier. But soo much action had taken place between the two barriers being put up that I don't understand why Hiruzen didn't take one out.

If other people got involved in the fight against oro it would make it more difficult for hiruzen to fight considering he'd have to protect his fellow shinobi from oro. Hiruzen was the only one there that new most of oro's abilities and was the only one there that had a chance to defeat him without interruptions.

He could not cuz they'd also put a barrier inside. The Anbu also thought about the fact Hiruzen could break from inside, and after that, they'd put a barrier immediately inside too, so that Hiruzen could not do that. Just look at this pic:

Also, Hiruzen didn't even intended to escape. It's what Orochimaru said here:

When Hiruzen says that "it won't be easy to escape", Orochimaru says: "as if you intended too". That means even if Hiruzen could break through, he didn't wanted to.

Why go for the pawn when you can kill the King? And/Or he knew he was going to die regardless and decided to direct all his energy on taking oro out.

You realize those pages are in the OP. But between the first barrier and second barrier being put up.... a lot of things happened. It just seems during all that action within two chapters he didn't feel the urgency to take out one of his captors
