Some says this is the contingency plan, in case Superman will turn rogue. Now, what if Batman goes rogue and decides to kill Superman?

Reading DC is worth a fortune.. however, if you can download the complete episode of The Justice League and The Justice League Unlimited.

I forgot the which episode exactly, but Superman knows that Batman has a kryptonite in his utility belt. Techically, only Batman can defeat Superman and Super Girl.

If any of you have seen The Justice League Movie: Alternate Universe, you will know that in all parallel universe, Batman is always the Brain of the Justice League.
