Sasuke and Itachi were under sound genjutsu, and looked into each others eyes to break out.

But how were they able to do that if they were under genjutsu? I thought that you were under an illusion once you get caught in a genjutsu so how could they see each others eyes?

as you know, the Uchiha are infamous for genjutsu and can see through most genjutsu with there eyes. My guess is kabuto knew this and only did a paralysis genjutsu like bladesofchaos said.

They got out of it fast enough to react, that's the main thing.

well the Genjutsu used by that sound ninja don't know his name used sound genjutsu with his demonic flute that bind a ninja forbidding them to move... just movements...... sorry if I'm wrong

They were just paralyzed. They are Uchiha clan which is known for genjutsu. It would take a way more advanced genjutsu to affect them significantly.
