Jiraiya has a counter for susano, he can use his sage mode genjutsu that uses sound to disable Itachi's susano since we now know you cant maintain susano if your senses are being overrided shown when kabuto used sage techniques against him, I'm uncertain if by himself, Itachi can break out of that genjutsu seeing how Jman almost killed pain w/ it. without factoring in tsunade & oro the odds dont bode well for Itachi. So I'll go w/ Sannin ftw!

Edo Itachi? The one who can't be beat without a sealing technique (which iirc none of the Sannin have) and seems to have infinite Chakra (or Chakra that regenerates ridiculously fast)? Yeah, edo Itachi takes this. Lol, normal Itachi would have a good chance (and I'm not even an Itachi fan). Making him edo was overkill imo.

Itachi didn't want to cause tpo much commotion back then, and that fight definitely wasn't going to be a quiet one. Itachi ran, but it could have been to keep quiet, and to keep up appearances. Remember, Jiraiya was getting info FROM Itachi, they couldn't be all buddy buddy in front of Sasuke and the others.
