[Spoilers] Has Itachi truly been taken down?

OK, I was reading the manga today and I couldn't believe Itachi was being
pushed back into a corner by Kabuto. It was distressing, and I didn't like my favourite character being so weak, or looking weak.

I'm gonna be honest, I did think that Itachi's Izanami would mess up, or maybe Kabuto would counter it. People were telling we with Izanami would woop his ass, but I was doubting the fact that we've seen Kabuto's true Sage Mode yet.

If you look at the image below closely you'll notice Itachi saying "You've already failed." and he makes a handsign. I have a feeling he didn't mess up because we all know he's intelligent. He also looks very concentrated and fixated on what he's doing. Whenever he acts silent, as the way he did in the Manga, shit is about to go down xd

If you look at the image below you'll see even though Itachi is stabbed he STILL has the handsign going. I'm guessing Kabuto is caught in it. One thing I notice is that one of Itachi's eyes has faded. I doubt this is a coincidence. Why would Kishi stop it there? (Obvious answer being for a cliffhanger) But my question is what was with all the foreshadowing of Kabuto's history? Antagonists and Protaganists have died many a time after their history was shown.

What are your opinions? Will Edo Tensei save him? Or has Izanami already kicked in? Give evidence to back up your points.

Good point I hope Izanami didn't mess up. I still have doubts if Kabuto will be taken down so easily...

Kabuto didnt show us enough of his power, he's still an mystery. If izanagi is used with success, kabuto AND probably madara are ****ed. This cant be, this would be boring. I hope Itachi is now the one who failed..

Yes, perhaps. I think Sasuke will be left with the duty to take down Kabuto, but who knows xd

Yeah, Kishi wouldn't introduce Izanami and then throw it away like that, unless he's trying to show Kabuto's true power.

I don't think so, Itachi is not someone that would be taken out by an ability like that! Although i can't say for sure, Its probably part of his plan to throw off Kabuto, because as we all know, arrogance and over confidence of ones self leads you to miss certain things that can happen and right now Kabuto is full of himself to the max. I just hope that do beat Kabuto, because I feel is a huge poser on top of Orochimaru and all he worked for.

Izanami has clearly already been activated because itachi loses his right eye. For all we know, kabuto thinks he has cut itachi but he is trapped in izanami. But i kinda dont like that itachi is being cut unless he turns to crows in the next chapter xd

if itachi were alive, kabuto would have killed him, at the cost of izanami.
I think Kabuto will retake Itachi, but Izanami has already taken effect which will lead Kabuto down his road to defeat.
