What did you REALLY thought about Naruto before you read/watched it?

TO BE HONEST, i thought Naruto was some shit anime like every other. Pokemon was my favorite cartoon back then. But now that i've been watching Naruto, omg, i should've watched it earliar. Naruto is such an awesome anime. Words cannot describe how amazing this anime is, just feelings. Naruto anime does not just make me feel, it inspires me to NOT QUIT no matter what comes at me. Just like Naruto, i was born without parents and i lived with my uncle. He hated me, but my aunt loved me. I grew up in a bad neighborhood, people hated me because i had no parents. I watched pokemon and it inspired me to try my best to succeed! But ever since i watched Naruto, my life has changed. From the teachings of Jiriya Sensai and from the deaths of strong Shinobis like Minato/3rd Hokage/Pain/ and Itachi. They motivated me to stay fresh, stay peaceful, and to fight for whats right. Naruto isnt just an anime to me, its something else more.

I just wasn't buying it to be honest he reminded me of one of Tim The Tool Man Taylors Son's but I started to get into it with my nephew, it's his fault I'm a Shippuden fiend now

To be honest i started watching naruto when i was watching naruto vs sasuke in final valley. back then i thought dbz and One piece were better. before i use to think it was a crappy ninja annime until i watched that fight.

I hated naruto as much as the onepeice people did i was like this show is fuggin stupid look all the lame fans all them are dumb nerds . then it was on Cartoon network i was like well i'm bored i guess i can watch it i saw the first two episodes thought it was pretty funny then watched the new dubed ones each week then when i saw zabuza i was like this guy is way badass looking then i starrted watching subbed cause it was way further then the english dubbed and i fell in love. that was a good spring break when i watched 130 episodes of naruto

I was like cool more anime! started watching and at the end of season 1, with the GREAT teamwork and strategic fights i lost a bit of sanity to the anime world.

Soon as I knew it was ninja's I knew it would be badass kill assassin shit, but after the zabuza arc it stopped being like that. Still love how it is now though

A friend of mine showed it to me a couple of years ago. Being uninterested in manga and anime in general, I didn't care about it much except for Gaara for some reason - so I watched all the Gaara fights that had been released up until that point. And one Kisame battle, since that is my friend's favorite character.

So yeah, I was indifferent, and I loathed (still don't really like) the term "ninja", I don't know, it makes me cringe for some reason. They just don't seem like the ninja sort...

But, then my little brother started watching just a few months ago and I got enthralled, although I hid it at first, hehe. I think I started watching by myself after having seen a few scenes of the Chiyo vs Sasori.
