question about zabuza and haku

I was just reading the old manga and got the part where zabuza pops up. At that point kakashi takes out his sharingan. But i was curious.....was zabuza even strong? like they made him seem like a freakin beast back then but compared to now.... i dont know. what do you guys think about zabuza and haku?

and another thing. they say kakashi is the copy ninja becausee of the sharingan...but ive never really seen other sharingan users copy moves like kakashi does. do they just choose not to copy moves or something

i think they just choose not to copy because most others with sharingan #1 are Uchiha's, so theyre already pretty set, or #2 they probably already have their own things going for them. but when it comes to zabuza and haku, although it seems like compared to now they arent too great, Zabuza was still one of the 7 swordsmen so he definitely wasn't bad. and even back then he had some pretty strong techniques. and haku was really good for his age but i dont think he could put up as much of a fight compared to some of the current shinobi.

They might seem weak now because of how so many high-tier ninjas are appearing all of a sudden. During the Zabuza arc, we were made to believe that there was weak Genin -> average Chunin -> Skilled Jounin -> Master Hokage. Now we see things from all different villages, with their own Kages to handle (not just the current ones but the previous ones as well). Than we see the Akatsuki rise, and the Legendary Sannin pop up with their own sort of OP. Things are just picking up the pace - it was the first arc, what can you expect? Their over all attitude however was a good example for Naruto and his team.

your forgetting that if zabuza and haku werent dead they too would of trained and although it seems naruto now is unstoppable, zabuza and haku would also be alot stronger to even it out a bit.
