IMO itachi is able to tank a full powered sussano with a partly rib case sussano not even in full form.

IT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE YATA MIRROR ON.

now as you will see the black arrow that is where itachi and sasuke are fighting you should be able to see that little top where i pointed it.

IMo it was barely able to destroy the mountain sasuke and itachi were still on top of it, it may have been able to get through the second layer of the mountain but thats just a guess.

naruto tbb would totally annihilate it

as you see kurama's tbb is bigger than the moutain that itachi and sasuke were standing on, the radius and the expansion of kurama's tbb would totally destroy that mountain. ~ LOWER RIGHT OF THE PANEL TO SEE KURAMA"S TBB EXPAND ITS RADIUS AND DISTANCE > KIRIN.

hmmm i do agree that its overrated as its highly highly dependend on location and like the ideal settings.

However you cant really measure the extent of a technique depending on the amount of visual damage it does, look at naruto v sauske techniques.

When sauske n naruto fought on top of the hospital sauske caused what seemed like more damage where as it was actually naruto's rasengan that would have destroyed him.

Same for rasenshurriken, attacks in the cellular level rather than visible damage.

Still i agree kirin is highly overated, you fall for it once, rarely the second time, and like you said only needed the ribed form.

I don't think you can compare a lightening attack with a bijuu's tbb. Earth stops lightening from travelling further (if I remember right, don't know if this is right, sorry) but a tbb is made from another energy than lightening. So I don't think that they can be compared to each other

I thought this was a thread about Kirin being overrated, yet you ended off comparing it with the Tailed Beast Ball? Well - despite what you've displayed, as someone mentioned, it's pointless to rate jutsu based on their visual destruction - the fact of the matter is, whether it be the TBB or Kirin, they are both extremely powerful techniques, and their final outcome is the same: if you are hit directly by either of them, you will die. It doesn't matter how much terrain is destroyed by the attack in the process - it's all futile if the technique doesn't bring about that outcome.

IMO Kirin was known for its immense speed more than its destructive power, but that's still a big plus.

lol how can kirin be overrated. Its true that itachi didnt have time enough to activate a full susano and as we saw its after the attack did we see susano forming, but dont underestimate the attack. The fact that itachi who as one of the best reaction speed in the series couldnt full up a full susano should tell you that the technique is no pushover. Combine that with the fact that susano even incomplete is one of the best defences out there, but susano alone didnt protect him. The attack got past susano to rip itachi's akatsuki uniform off, but also he was laying at the ground after the attack. Susano might have taken the sting out of the technique, but it still affected itachi

I agree with you. Kirin is really powerful and not overrated at all. But at the bold part, you forget something. Don't forget his state at that moment. He could even barely stay up by himself. In this state, even Konohamaru could have better chance to avoid that.

I'm debating whether he used Yata Mirror or not because we saw Sasuke instantly go Full Susano'o against the Zetsu, so Itachi might be able to as well.
