Just finished watching Naruto OVA 9 and I gotta admit Konohamaru is pretty bad ass considering the jutsu he was performing. He did a Oodama Rasengan, multiple clones (as many as Naruto), shuriken clone technique and Asuma's fire technique. For a genin that's pretty kick ass and took loads of chakra considering he's not a Senju or an Uzumaki. Skills wise he's actually much further ahead than even Sasuke was at Genin level when you look at the techniques he was using. Sasuke would only be ahead because of his Kekkei Genkai (Sharingan) and Naruto because of Kurama's chakra usage. I think it would be a while before becoming Hokage considering how powerful Naruto is. Still I have to give props. Go Konohamaru!!!

Konohamaru recived special training his whole life. I'm not suprised. Don't get why he got promoted to Chuunin though. He's strong but not smart. Hr used all his chakra for one punch? Then how come Naruto didn't get promoted to. He used all his chakra on one punch to.

He surprised me in the Anime when he used the ash technique against Temari. He's coming along nicely. ^__^

Naruto does get promoted it gara and all the others say to naruto it doesn't matter if you lost you can still become a chunin if you want

I think naruto didn't get promoted coz he went into SM... and it's against the rules or something like that

Naruto seems like the type to be stronger than most jounin..he even saved a village.. they should had been exalted him. :scorps:

I agree with the OP. Konohamaru is pretty awesome! And if you ask me: Konohamaru > Sasuke and Naruto (13 yrs old) (Just my opinion). Konohamaru will truly reach his potential when he learns to distinguish himself from Naruto and tap into his more intellectual side that his Grandfather possessed. Then, he needs to find himself and stop calling himself "Grandson of Sarutobi yada yada yada". Naruto doesn't go around saying "Son of the Fourth yada yada yada," because he's already his own man and doesn't go by that monicker like Konohamaru does. Once he finds himself, becomes his own man, only then will he possibly even surpass Naruto.

PS: Just because he wasn't a Senju or Uchiha doesn't mean anything really. The Sarutobi Clan has produced great shinobi who can grasp jutsu with ease and have large reserves of chakra (i.e. Azuma and Hiruzen). Anyone who comes from the Sarutobi Clan, Uchiha Clan, or Senju clan is as Deidara says, "Blessed with good genes."
