Why did naruto let sasuke win at the valley of the end?

I believe he didnt want to kill his best freind and sasuke said he wouldnt lay a scratch on his headband ...but naruto did

No. The Rasengan is not "stronger" than the Chidori. They're equally powerful. Just because they work differently doesn't make them inferior or superior in anyway.
- The Chidori is like a knife. It pierces you.
- The Rasengan is like a sledgehammer. It delivers a big blow.
Every single time, and I mean every single time, Naruto's Rasengan and Sasuke's Chidori have clashed they've both been blown back equal (give or take) distances. It happened twice at the Valley of the End, and again when Naruto confronted Sasuke after his battle with Danzo. So I don't know where people are getting this idea that either of them is stronger than the other.

I'm commenting here because there is a large body of people co-signing this type of comment.
***First of all, every one make sure that you dont confuse 2 different fights. Some people comment about the Rasengan/Chidori clash on the rooftop, and some people are commenting on the fight at the Valley of the End. I'm talking about the rooftop fyi.***
When naruto and sasuke clashed on the rooftop, Naruto never pulled back. His rasengan was stronger because he made it at a force that would KILL someone, same as Sasuke did. He realized from the beginning that this was no test of power but Sasuke charged enough force in his Chidori that Naruto knew it was FOR REAL--Sasuke could have seriously hurt/killed Naruto if he wouldnt have made a strong Rasengan. Which means he didnt hold back at all b/c the force of Chidori would have killed him if he wouldnt have gone all out. Kakashi stopped the clash before it happened so no one would kill eachother.
If we are talking about the Rasengan/Chidori clash at the Valley of the End, Naruto hit him in the Head possibly, where his headband is lol. I dont think he AIMED for the headband b/c at this point they are literally fighting to the death, or atleast Sasuke is, and Naruto realized this. The two techniques Clashed and it happened to scratch his headband, but this is more symbolical on Kishi's part. Most Missing Nin scratch their headbands on purpose to show they are no longer have ties with the village. FYI

Neither of them pulled back during either of the battles. xd They wouldnt have killed each other either time because it takes the same amount of charkra for each of the jutsus. This is was obviously show at the valley of the end battle.

that fight was simply plot no jutsu
naruto didnt even use gamabunta:sy:
if naruto would have went all out sasuke would of died.

It was an even attack its just Sasuke's chidori at that time was more powerfull. Im not sure why were arguing this, just seems like it was made up to rile the Naruto and Sasuke supporters. Feels like our own little clan war in here XD
Sasuke cursed seal using chidori is stronger than Naruto kiuuby's coat using rasengan?
Kishi wanted Sasuke to flee so he couldn't make Naruto the winner bcuz it wouldn't make sense for what he wanted for his story line.
