Madara and Hashirama cells

Ok, so i've been reading the manga for a long time, and the only question i have left is, when did madara obtain hashirama's cells? According to tobi, kabuto and madara himself, madara obtained hashirama's dna in their battle in what became the final valley, and yet the manga has implied (and everyone on narutobase has been saying) that kabuto improved madara by implanting hashirama's cells into him after he was made into an edo tensei (the same as danzo, with his face implanted on his body.) Can anyone tell me which one is true?

But according to madara and kabuto, the entire point of his battle with hashirama was to gain his cells.... which he claimed he did.

But he never implanted any thts why kabuto did

It might be true but why will he need hashi cells to unlock rinnegan when the uchiha have the sage eyes n the senju have the sage body soo doesnt tht mean tht rinnegan is part of the uchiha but to make alot stronger they need a senju body or cell. Thts wat i believe.. n rite now i believe madara is on the level of the sage just like tobi n i believe naruto will be too
