Swift Release

(Hayatōn: Mueishō) – Swift Release: Shadowless Flight
Rank: A
Type: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: After making a single hand seal the user can move at fast speeds through the release of the swift release and then strike their opponent at multiple angles. The jutsu is effective against strength based close-combat Taijutsu users such as Tsunade and Sakura. However sharingan of tomo 3 is capable of reading the movements and can react to the opponents attacks.
Note: Can only be used by a swift user bio.

Take note of the following:
Covers all ranges.
Movement is almost/instant.
No usage restrictions.
Only 3 tomo sharingan or higher can keep up.

Restrictions to make/use bio:
-The user must have completed training in Wind and Lightning Release to learn Swift Release.
-To make a Swift Release bio the user needs to be S rank and have the been a member for at least two months.
- Custom Biography can have Swift Release and the bio must be from Sunagakure

Easy to have a swift bio when all needed is mastery of wind and lightning, 2 months from join date , some posts and a custom bio to say it came from suna, no test needed. Take a look at it's abilities again and compare it to it's restrictions. Catch my drift?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Minato's FTG requires a seal to transport to the location (of the seal).
While swift release, you just perform a handseal and the speed is similar. However, for Minato, the restrictions are much heavier.
I suggest that Swift is added a new restriction. eg. permission. This prevents members from spamming/abusing this technique since it seems this is where it's going from threads I've seen with it's use.

This is open for your comments, and I would also like comment(s) from RP moderator(s). Take note that this post is simply from my point of view, and in no way I'm saying the mod(s) did a bad job at the swift ability or anything of that matter.

We don't want people spamming shadowless flight. Especially inexperienced members. And this is not a complaining thread. :|

I for one actually agree. They should keep it atleast Mid-Range or shortange like they had it at first. cause what that means is. Swift=Ftg? Pshh.. Yea right. Give out a test or something for swift

I suggest that Swift's abilities be cut down a little, or suitable restrictions added. eg. a battle test. This is open for your comments, and I would also like comment(s) from RP moderator(s). Swift release is clearly misunderstood and your highlighting this by comparing it to a minato bio when the actual fact of the matter is a minato bio's base speed is superior to swift being as his base reaction time was on par with the raikages and the raikage in armor is faster then swift release.
I'll explain in more detail in private or VM as i dont feel like sharing all of the bad sides to swift release in a public thread as im basically wrecking my own KG if i do because its so simple to counter its unreal.

I'm aware of Minato's base speed. That's why I compared Swift to his FTG seal.

You can't use wind and lightning in the same turn as swift, you are restricted by two elements. Now, I know that there has been a boat load of swift release bios being made, and I believe that it should have the same restrictions as dark release, the one that says mod permission is required. A test however, isn't needed. Also, as I recall, restrictions are being worked on already. Minato's base speed is incredibly high, then you compare ftg to swift o_O

Also like rexii said, it's insanely easy to counter.

when was this?. Cause what i was told is that the Short--> Long range swift was the only thing they was doing. I personally think they need to have 2 mod permissions. As i known you have your own style of Swift.... As i recall and swift is very useful actually but making it long range is kinda Overdoing it.

Bold: Does it make a difference, shadowless flight occupies only one of the 3 allowed moves. There's ninjutsu (often combo with it is chakra rasengan), fire, earth, water, taijutsu etc. A simple kunai slash to the throat can do the trick. In addition to that, search "shadowless flight" in the battle arena and see how much is posted in the first turn of the match. In some/majority of cases, the opponent dies in the second turn. It doesn't matter if it's easy to counter, where's the "fun" in spamming one technique?

Here's an idea, place light weight armor in your bio, use earth release rock armor, B rank. But there is a technique in the list that is an absolute counter to swift. I won't mention it, but I hate to see people go all "Screw this release let's restrict it/make it less powerful than it already is" just because they can't figure out how to counter it. 3T isn't even needed if people just use their head a little more.

So you are aware his base speed is above swift release...Yet you compared it to a S/T technique....

*Waits to hear the logic behind the comparison*

Hmm, i have to disagree the technique in it of itself is fairly easy to counter, used in combination with something presents a problem

Well they restricted it with the two elements thus when defended by earth or fire it is difficult to break through...

It doesn't matter if it's easy to counter? Really? Your thread is saying how swift is hard to counter so it must be restricted even more. Then, when we say that it's easy to counter, you start to say that it's not fun to spam one technique. Well drizzy I'm sorry that you are possibly tied up in a dark room like Nagato and get an electrical shock every time someone miss uses a technique that is easy to counter, that it effects you so much that it must be restricted heavily because you think that it's comparable to FTG.

Really, Space/time cannot be compared to swift release. You compare it to a minato bio, yet minato can move at his speed, free-forming without the need of posting a jutsu, and then to make it an overkill he has FTG, but no one complains about that. Swift release is no big deal, it's just for those who are more into taijutsu and want a slight increase on their bio in terms of tai. Swift isn't as powerful as a kg like a doujutsu is. Hell, it can't even create excess chakra to be used for attacks like other elemental chakra can. It's souly based for speed and even with that, it can be countered, but you want it restricted more? That's complete nonsense.

Yes, swift release has a high speed, but it is severely easy to counter. But you say, it doesn't matter if it's easy to counter, it shouldn't be abused. How do you abuse a technique that can be countered easily? You think because it takes the fun out of the RP it should be restricted? By saying that you are taking the ones who you see "Abuse" a technique and trying to ruin it for the rest of the ones who do not. The technique is not even op nor is it abuse-able if it is easy to counter.

I do think it should require mod permission, for the sake of those who cannot think "hard enough" :)rolleyes:) to counter the technique, but even then restricting the actual release further or lowering the speed just because people can't think logically is an out-rage. If you don't want to fight someone who has swift release just because you can't think of how to counter it, put it in the thread. But by all means, restricting the speed or the release user restrictions like range, isn't necessary. The only restrictions I would like added, is to make a 6 month membership and permission from a moderator to make the bio.

A test for the release is laughable because once you either place armor in your bio, use rock armor or use that one technique or of several other techniques, the release becomes only useful for dodging techniques etc. Which then, you might complain "Well that person can just avoid any combo" Well then why is that person even RP'ing? Restricting the speed or restricting the release isn't really even needed.

Once you figure out how to counter swift, the person basically just has a normal bio in terms of him using it to just attack you with it i.e kunai to the throat. It's severely unfair to the release and the members that use it to just restrict it because people can't use their heads to figure out a counter to it. The 3T, is just there as a means of saying how fast it is, you can counter the technique without the need of 3T if you use your head a little more. Quite frankly, I'm tired of hearing people jump to restricting a technique just because they cannot figure out how to counter it. It's a major insult to the release and the ones who use it.

...there's also the fact that Swift is as fast, I'd not faster than several of the Gates. And Swift is, even with the restrictions you suggest, laughably easy to obtain, where as the considerably-nerfed Gares are nearly impossible to get.

Swift is equal to the third gate which is hardly a gigantic unstoppable boost

Canon sasuke is around the same speed as seen vs deidara and team 7 when he apparently teleported he was that quick.
This isnt an issue with swift release this is an issue of people lacking an understanding of speed in my opinion :)

And yet "almost as fast ad Raikage's armor" is suddenly not impressive at all, is what you're saying.

I'll admit, I hate Swift, so I'm probably bias, but I do see it as incredibly overpowered.

Its not almost as fast as raikages armor its seventy five percent or three quarters whichever you prefer and thats a big difference just in my opinion and i like swift but im trying to be fair and impartial here simply because i can counter swift and have done so using canon techniques and a little brainpower.

I believe Drizzeh's reference to the abuse of Swift and his comparison to FTG are the result of a recent argument made by a Swift user which involved his statement that the Wiki described Swift as being nearly instantaneous which he stated caused his opponent to die without chance to respond, or something to that effect. Against an opponent without Doujutsu or another form of enhanced sensing, if you can claim that your attacks happen so quickly that your opponent can not respond, then there is little difference from Space/Time.

=| Seventy-five percent of "really freaking fast" is still incredibly fast. Raikage's Armor ~ Minato's base speed. Ergo, Swift release is almost as fast as Minato. This wouldnt be much of a problem were it not for several things: ridiculously easy accessibility, inevitable argument of "you can't react fast enough" (especially to those without Sharingan), and the ease it can be spammed. Not to overlook the capability for extremly easy OHKO, which, while you've tried to down play, you have not refuted as fact.
