Ok for starter i want to get to a subject that i thought people actually understood but it seems that only some people actually do.
Gaara can and also can not block Amaratsu.
To clear what i am saying up is that in the manga sasuke used enton to attack gaara. Enton is the manipulated amaratsu flames. People don't seem to understand what that means. The fact that it was manipulated flames that were already existent means two major things, that:
That the Amaratsu flames and Enton are 1 in the same. They are the exact same fire and that Amaratsu was no aimed directly from the eye at gaara. Since gaara blocked Enton, that means his sand is physically capable of withstanding an attack of amaratsu. This does not mean it can block amaratsu though. Gaara's sand does not have the speed to dodge amaratsu. I say this because, Amaratsu forms where the User is looking. Amaratsu does not travel from the eye until it hits the target.
Example:
You see how the vision is getting closer and closer without the amaratsu flames being present. This is showing where sasuke is looking from sasuke's point of view and he would see the amaratsu flames in his vision if they were there. That swirl is also showing the location of where the flames will forum getting more direct to form in a certain area.
Many will argue this manga picture:
We all know that itachi never had the intention to kill sasuke. While using this technque he was attempting to burn off his wing, the last remaining one he had gotten rid of the other one before that if you guys remember clearly. Itachi could have killed sasuke by just looking at him but since sasuke was in motion looking at his wing was difficult he evenually caught him though. Itachi looked towards the wing not him and tried looking at it while sasuke was in motion.
Now to address Raikage Dodging it:
It was forming where raikage was it was not shooting. The dash lines around the flame might make it look as if he was shooting it at him but it was making a detail of how and where sasuke was focusing like it did in the picture i have with killer bee. Raikage moved from where it was forming to prevent being hit by the flames he didnt dodged amaratsu that was being shot at him just moving from where it was forming which is still a dodge. Gaara's sand is far from being on Par with Raikage's speed and since we only have proof that someone At Raikage speed or higher can avoid the attack we can not say gaaras sand can block it.
and to address sasuke alone when the **** did they mention sasuke having a ****ing amaratsu sword cause i dont remember it, of u see it just link the manga page.
