and imo tobirama always had an idea who he was going to make hokage.. he was just during a test to see if his choice was right..... the hokage needs to be summon willing to die and put their life on the line for their village..danzo was not that person.. though he would protect the village at no matter what cost... he didn't value each person of konoha.. ninja or non ninja..i disagree overall

Well, we both have our opinions. Yours is that he intended to make Saru Hokage, mine is that he intended Danzo.
If that was a test - and in my opinion, that makes very little sense - it was a poor one and was testing for the wrong qualities. Pretend you're playing chess. Do you send your king into enemy territory to save a couple of pawns? No, you grit your teeth and you sacrifice those pawns, no matter how hard it is, because you have to win the game. So the definition of a good leader overall is not just somebody who will sacrifice themselves in a bad situation, and ESPECIALLY not for a leader of a ninja village during a war.
You want to keep one leader, if possible.
Plus, Saru wasn't determined to sacrifice his life. Sorry. He was actually pretty arrogant, stating 'I won't die because I know I'm the best out of all of us!'. Danzo, on the other hand, was sincere in his intent to die 'as a proper shinobi' in the tradition of his family and for the sake of Konoha and his comrades; he just couldn't get it out immediately out of fear, and it's shown that he's angry at himself for that.
I'm not saying that Danzo was the perfect choice at the time. I'm saying he was the better choice as compared to Saru, and that with further training he could have become a great Hokage.
Why do you say Danzo didn't value the people of Konoha? The only logical application I can see of that statement is that he wasn't as much of a 'people person' as Saru. He didn't have time to be (running Root, protecting village, etc) and that really wasn't in his character as much. U_U I rest my case.

Yh I agree to some extent anyway next time you make a long thread try and organize it better through short paragraphs and maybe pictures :) people hate reading walls of text

I'll see if I can add pics, thanks for the advice and the partial agreement. They wouldn't let me add pictures before but it might work now...

First off, THANK YOU FOR READING and not just saying it's too long.
I'm not saying Danzo was perfect (although if Jiraiya qualifies to be called perfect...), and I'm not putting forth the theory as an absolute truth. It's a fun theory my sis and I were using for our AU and I wanted to get reactions to it.
Yes, he worked with Orochimaru in order to get the Sharingan implanted. However, it's obvious by the way things worked out that they must have fallen out of alliance by the time Oro attacked Konoha - my guess would be that Danzo attempted to have him assassinated.
All I'm saying in contrasting him and Hiruzen was that Hiruzen had trouble making important decisions (dithering over whether or not to train medics for the squads during war, not doing anything when Orochimaru was around) and was rather a pacifist. Both these things would be deadly during a war. Saru might have been a good choice for a peace time leader, but since they were literally in the middle of a war Danzo was the better choice. Not the absolute best, just better than Hiruzen!

Okay so let me tell you both of them had great love for their village but each acted in the series according to their opinion and then the people who suffered are people of the village so and also if you are a hokage it doesnt means that all your decisions would be correct all the time so they were humans and they made mistakes which is why all this is such a mess if they would have known what is going to happen after taking this decision i dont think they would go ahead and just destroy the village :rolleyes:

Danzo was not trained by tobirama and he would have picked anyone there he just choose the one willing to die

(a) How do you know he wasn't trained by Tobirama?
(b) The second part of the line is just as much speculation as anything I said. And that's a ridiculous thing to say... because Danzo was willing to die and Hiruzen wasn't.

Danzo wasn't able to speak up first out of fear (which he was extremely angry at himself for) but he was actually nerving himself up to the 'I'm literally going to die' point. Saru arrogantly states 'I'm the best of all of us' or, in another translation 'I know that I'm better than any of you!' and that he 'won't die.'

Well I actually read it. Personally I think there is a whole lot of reaching and speculation. We have no proof of any of this at all. Just because Kagami looks like Shisu doesn't mean he has his powers. And if he used a lesser genjutsu I think Tobirama would have been able to counter it. I mean he did fight the Uchiha for years before the Leaf was built.

I think that Tobirama's death was a lot of plot no jutsu. And I also think that Hiruzen was the better pick for Third.

Thank you SO much for reading it, and using grammar and spelling - they really do still exist!
Yep, there's a lot of speculation, but that's why it's just a theory, ne?
I figured that because of Kagami's resemblance to Shisui he might come from the same branch of the family, and therefore have a high chance of having similar genjutsu skills.
Yes, Tobirama had fought Uchihas before - but seeing as this was his student and it was a difficult situation, he probably wasn't expecting an attack. And with a genjutsu of the type Shisui used, you wouldn't even be aware of it once it was on. It's interesting to note that in the anime Kagami had his Sharingan on in one of the shots that show him. Sure, they could be in a fight at any moment, but that raises the likelihood he could have done something.
I explained why Danzo was a better pick for the third, but you're perfectly welcome to your own opinion. I'm just happy you used spelling. And capitalization. And word breaks in the right places.

did not like this thread could have been more organized .... also danzo should have not been hokage point blank period... because he had something to do with the uchiha massacre not only that but flaunted thier eyes like jewelry also he had to many secrets about himself and the purpose of root meaning he was doing things he was not supposed to do all in all you can't kill innocent people and say your a hoakage.

Honey, cast the beam outta your spelling and grammar before you point at my organization.
And you're saying Danzo shouldn't be Hokage... because he had something to do with the Uchiha massacre.
...
And he - he what? Flaunted their eyes? Taking a rare doujutsu from those who didn't need it any longer and implanting them in your arm... and then covering that arm with bandages, a cast and your cloak at all times... equals 'flaunting.'
Also: If you're the head of a black ops faction you're supposed to have secrets. That's the point of 'black ops' - that's the point of ninjas overall! Secrets! Doing the dirty work! Look, do you go after the head of the FBI because he has too many secrets?
Show me an innocent person he's actually had killed or killed himself. Seriously. If you got proof, show it.
You know what? Just go actually read the manga and stop embarrassing yourself. Please. :sy:

This. Didn't read due to wall and the second Hokage named Hiruzen the third Hokage in front of all of the people who were honestly the most likely candidates. There was no mistake here.

If you'd actually read it you'd have seen that I took that in account...

Hiruzen had the will of fire whereas this wasn't clear with Danzo. This made Hiruzen the stand out choice in Tobirama's eyes. Hiruzen was a good leader, I don't know why so many people think otherwise. He lead Konoha through one of it's most prosperous periods, prevented a civil war, and ended up dying to save the village. Sure he made a mistake with Orochimaru but the same can be said with countless other shinobi.

Another Yellow Flash. Does Minato have something against Danzo?
How can you say Danzo didn't have the Will of Fire? That's the 'burning desire to protect the village'. If ANYONE had it, he did! So your second line makes no sense.
Let's have a little look at Hiruzen's track record:
(a) Didn't want to train medics to go on squads during the war because he thought they might not have time. Had to be yelled at by his student and some white-haired guy.
(b) When a body factory was discovered under the city, he decided to march in with... himself, and twoblack ops. Black ops of the type that get knocked over as collateral damage in every other scene. And they do - he just stands there staring as Orochimaru knocks them over and makes his escape. Yes, I do count this as an instance of bad leadership. Sorry.
(c) When Orochimaru came back years later he lets him hang around with no attempt at capturing him and instead diverts almost all their forces to other countries. He even caters to what he requested!
(d) After his bad leadership had allowed a partial invasion and gotten a lot of people killed, he did sacrifice his life. That's all very well, but all he managed to get in return for his and the other two Hokage's souls being locked in eternal torment (supposedly) was Oro's arms. Which slowed him down, but didn't stop him, and in the end really didn't provide much help for anything.
(e) When you say the village enjoyed peace and prosperity, you're not addressing the fact that they went through a couple wars in the start of his term of office, and that the two times you know of him trying to make treaties it was turned into an invasion or chance to attack in some way by the other village. And the Uchiha massacre, which he very nearly let happen...
Plus, even in peacetime there's out-of-sight work to be done, especially among ninja villages. If Konoha didn't have Danzo to take care of that, I don't want to think about what could have happened.

1.I know because of two things one in the sensei student picture danzo isnt in the picture picture and second on both of there bio's danzo isnt mentioned to be trained by hashi or tobi

2.Because danzo didnt speak up tobirama wouldnt have known he wanted to die and hiruzen knew he was goin to die no matter who went they would have died when he said im stronger then all of yu he didnt mean that he wouldnt die he ment the rest of the team would have a better chance on getting away with him fighting

1. Saru was willing to die for the village, unlike Danzo. A necessary requisite for a leader
2. Saru had the will of fire, Danzo had an ideology similar to madaras
3. Sarutobi was vastly more able than Danzou

1: Danzo wasn't thought of for the entire first season and never gets a sensei really assigned to him. However, Hashi and Tobi were shown both with Saru, but he could have only had one sensei. The best explanation my sister and I could work up was that Sarutobi's team were Hashi's students but were transferred to Tobirama's care when he died, and it makes sense that the other team Tobirama was seen with would be his.
2. Bother to read the manga page I linked you to. :sy: Saru states 'I'm the best of us... I WON'T DIE'. After Danzo bursts out and says he'll be the decoy, he brings up the fact that his grandfather and father both died in battle as true shinobi, indicating his own willingness to die.
