What is more dangerous, marijuana or alchohol?

I can name several people who drank themselves to death or died in drunk driving crashes before the age of 30, good friends of mine. The worst I can come up with for pot is maybe some bad grades in school or losing a job from being lazy and skipping work, a couple cases of getting robbed for your pot.

drinking has way worse effects.. i smoke green but yet i still stay active , i work out , work hard @ work, i have self motivation.. i just like to smoke herbs but i do not recommend anyone to start .. if you don't then don't do it.. simple as that.

It should actually be obvious to everyone that alcholol is the dangerous one. How often do you see or hear about some fool being arrested for DUI, or doing dumb shit while drunk etc? And how often do you see people suffering from alchohol poisoning? Everyday. Compare that to how often you see someone actually dying from smoking weed or being harmed by weed. They have different effects. Alchohol mostly makes you active, like wanting to dance, have ***, fight, yell for no reason, etc. Weed mostly calms you down. There are even places that legally sell weed as "medical marijuana", for people who actually need it.

Alcohol is hard to produce and easy to tax. Weed is easy to produce and hard to tax.

Weed was only made illegal because a governor was using it as his campaign propaganda to get votes saying that weed made mexicans come to america and rape white women and he would stop it if he got elected so he pressured a law into being enacted against it.

Alcohol is kept legal because they tried once to illegalize it and it caused way more problems than the government could handle. Too many people are heavily dependent on drinking.

Actually marijuana is illegal because hemp is a superior substitute to plastics and fuels. Making marijuana illegal meant that people could make a lot of money by selling synthetic goods that would have otherwise been made to a better quality with hemp.

Ignorance is a big problem like people who say the suck -____- but really no one knows. You should stay away fr both until you're in your twenties IMO, but as to why Marijuana is illegal when alcohol is more dangerous and legal no one knows. Especially when BILLIONS of dollars could be made on taxing Marijuana. It already is the US' number 1 cash crop ahead of corn. I like both personally I'm all for legalization but some people don't like it and maybe think it is bad for society. I get it but it is largely based on ignorance - people are uneducated. Now excuse me while I light this spliff.

Well i have never met anyone with weed addiction so i cant say, but my mom is alchoholic so I can clearly state that it ruins health of ones own and lives of ones own and those who are around it.
Gladly i started to make my own way so it didnt affect me much, but it is still sad to see someone important in your life just drown themself in alchohol and there is just so little you can do about it.
Anyway i would say that addiction of any kind is bad, but alchohol addiction is one of the badest there are. And weed is not in the same league maybe, couse from what i heard just some people becomes addicted junkies from it and some just use it as relaxing method, nothing more.

I don´t know which is worse but they both make you act like a jerk.
Across this caffe where my mates and me used to hang out, a couple of guys that were in a hard-rock band were leasing a place to practice their music. They were ok guys, sometimes they´ll come over and we would have a few laughs together. Then one day they decided to change their style and implement reggae into their music. Not only that, they also became true Rastafarians ( in their opinion ) and started to smoke ganja. Since than they became obnoxious twits, coming to the caffe yelling, insulting everyone and picking fights. The owner kicked them out many times, but they allways came back. The situation became so unbearable that we decided to stop hanging out in that caffe even though it was our favorite meeting for many years.​

Alcohol kills more people than most other drugs combined. But, it has no clear upper or downer affect, unlike other drugs. Alcohol works to accentuate your moods, so a happy person would be happier if they were to drink. Whereas weed is a downer, smoking weed makes you feel depressed, it has some good side effects, but so does being stung by a wasp, so that doesn't count for much.
IMO both are pointless, weed makes you slow and lethargic, I have never known an energetic weed smoker, and alcohol makes you clumsy and forgetful. So, I don't touch either, and I find it pathetic when people need either of them to have a good time. I used to drink, but I find all alcoholic drinks taste horrible and I have never touched weed because it smells. I've had pot cakes and been with people in a hotbox though - but these had no affect on me.

No one had heard of this very old medicinal herb before? really?! People knew what it was, and they new the side-effects, same with opium - which not all forms are banned. Weed was made illegal because it is a downer and the medicinal effects aren't strong enough to warrant it use, considering the side effects. It was in no way sacrificial.
