Did the Kages even get a clean hit on Madara?

I hear alot of people say here that Madara wouldn´t be so cocky if he wasnt Edo. Did the kages actually get a clean hit on him for them to say this? I'm not counting Onoki's attack, because we all know Madara let that happen.
