Or worse, fillers on totally random s**t like ninja cats and ostriches and ghost pirates and giant ninja marlins. Personally, I prefer "repeat" fillers since it's relevant at least. But yeah, you're exactly right. There seems to be plenty of interesting/exciting material that anime producers could cover to both bide their time and still make an enjoyable show. I don't think it will happen though. I kinda expected them to drag out the fight with the kyuubi, but no...and now we're back to filler.
