Alright, I'm sure this hasn't been made into a thread yet (could be wrong), but everyone is saying Senju+Uchiha=Rinnegan. Kabuto specifically said sharingan progresses into Rinnegan, not sharingan progresses into Rinnegan after obtaining Senju DNA. So, which is correct!

I think it's probable that Senju DNA is needed to unlock the Rinnegan, but it's not been shown to be a definite requirement yet.

Kabuto's explanation is somewhat ambiguous, because it implies as much as it defines.

You need to kill (or see) some one really close to you to unlock MS.
You need to take your brother eyes to unlock EMS.

Why would EMS evolve to Rinnegan without some sort of "special" way (in this case senju DNA)!?!?
You see, MS and EMS progress from 3 tomoe sharingan, yet they need "something" to be unlocked, they don't just naturally evolve. And Rinnegan is most likely the same thing.

No you do not need senju DNA. Madara obtained them for Izanagi, not for Rinnegan.

Madara acquired Rinnegan after obtaining the DNA off from fighting with Harashima.
