Has the manga talked about what Gedo Mazo IS?

So Im not sure if i missed it if they talked about it, but the Gedo Mazo statue looks like a shrivled form of the Juubi ten tails, we all know that, but have the chaaracters gone into any details on that? because to me it would make sense obviously if the statue is the remaining body of the juubi, as it holds the tailed beasts essenses too. but didnt the so6p story involve him sealing the beast's body in the moon with chibaku tensei?

if we dont know yet, what do you think?

For one, it has multiple eyes.

For two, we know of it mainly as a "sealing statue" or "demonic statue of the outter path".

and without a blood contract you cant jus summon it right?

so how else could you possible get the body off the moon without reviving it and letting it get itself out

oh shit i think i finally found out madara's plan when he achieved rinnegan he read the full story of so6p, the brothers, sharinngan/rinnegan, but more importantly the jubi and how it can be accessed by a strong rinnegan user hense the plan with implanting the rinnegan in a uzumaki child (nagato) and have someone control his hatred (tobi). so that that child would grow up revive the shell of the jubi slowly collect all the bijuu and revive madara witch we can assume it would have killed nagato to revive madara. and then madara compleats him self with tobi and jubi. the point is he wasnt strong engho at his old age to summoning the shell of the jubi (gedo maza) or to steal bijuu's power so he made tobi and entursted his eyes to a young uzumaki kid and entrusted tobi to guide him into doing what he wants.

EDIT: detail on why a uzumaki is needed, he needed nagato uzumaki because to revive the gedo maza what ever it might be it takes tons of chakra and more importantly life force thats why after the nagato vs hanzo (when he revived the gedo) he looked so old and really weak (only looked).

It's Rinnegan technique for sealing chakra , every Rinnegan user can summon it , but it needs to be synched with someone too use it properly , I dont have no idea how Tobi is using it.
