I've heard many times that character A would beat character B with experience being the main reason. How much truth does this hold to most battles in general?

i think realistically it should give an edge.. but then again naruto beat kakuzu who had over a hundred years of experience... so id say in the narutoverse experience really doesnt count for anything

Obviously if character A had more experience, he/she would have more strategies and perception of battle that character B does not have. He/She would be less surprise and therefore would focus more on the battle.

:| Sasuke proved it doesn't matter. He hasn't had one lick of training with MS

Well, experiences enable a person to react to particular circumstance in a better way..
For example: Experiences made Jiraiya think that he couldn't defeat Pain using simple tech, so he used Sage mode(which didn't save him anyway).

Yeah but characters like Sasuke are Deus Ex Machina characters. They tend to defeat their opponents without any training whatsoever because that's what makes the story move about.

Yes. This is what I mean how naruto is an overall better person than Sasuke. All Naruto's life he had to work for what he wanted but since Sasuke was lucky enough to be an Uchiha all he has to do is have eyes and he has it all.

i know that in an mma fight. experience is almost everything, but there is that small factor titled "anything can happen"

Actually in my honest opinion, Naruto's not all that different from Sasuke. The whole reason for Naruto's power was because of Nine Tails fox. Sure, you may say that he managed to learn Rasegan and Sage Mode and controlling the Nine Tail Fox Chakra all by himself with some guidance from his teachers, but needless to say, if the Nine Tails Fox would not have been sealed into him, he'd be as worthless as random chunnins who die the moment some random monster invades Konoha.

I feel that Naruto still had potential imo. He could learn things much much quicker than normal using mass shadow clones. You may say that this is a cheap way out of work... but hey.

Even if he had the nine tails at least he had to work to use those powers like sage mode and even Kyubi chakra mode he had to work to use the first form of it.(other than the first bijuu mode where he had the chakra cloak and stuff.)

With Sasuke its " HERP OH YOU HAVE MS HERE ARE THESE POWERS! YOU DON"T NEED TO WORK TO USE THEM DERP! JUST WAIT AWHILE AND THEY WILL REACH FULL POTENTIAL WITHOUT HARD WORK HERP DERP!"
