[Predictions] The Fate of Tsunade

If you haven't been keeping up with the anime/manga, please read at your own discretion.

Well, the basic point of this is to ask this: what do you think will happen to Tsunade? Do you think she will she live or die during/after the war? Please explain the reason for your answer.

For example, I think that she will die at some point; the death of the other two Sannin seems to me like a foreshadowing of her death—that she'll follow along with her two fellow Sannin.

In addition, she has already trained her successor, Sakura. Orochimaru trained Sasuke and Jiraiya trained Naruto; now both Orochimaru and Jiraiya are dead, since they pretty much "finished" (more or less) the training they planned for their students. Seeing as Tsunade is now in the middle of the war (and on the battlefield), I don't think she's going to be training Sakura again anytime soon; so I think it's relatively safe to assume that Sakura's training with Tsunade is done. In following the example of her colleagues, Tsunade could be on the path to death!

Finally, she's used what seems to be her ultimate healing jutsu. The use of the mark on her forehead just to heal herself (and others, in the case of the Leaf Village's assault by Pain) drives her to quickly return to her true age, and was stated by Shizune to be dangerous to Tsunade's health...what will a healing jutsu of THIS caliber do to her when it's finished? Death seems like a viable option to me.

So, like I said, please post what you think: will Tsunade die or continue living on? Please support your answers...I'm not going to be a hardcore fanboy or anything and only listen to my side—I enjoy reading what others have to say to!

I think she's gonna be battered and bruised after the war like she was after the Pain Invasion so she retires and gives the throne over to Naruto, then she dies after seeing him become Hokage.

yea i had similiar ideas. plus in order for naruto to become hokage, she either has to die or retire.

You bring up a good point! It probably would have been a pretty good idea to teach others some medical jutsu techniques...as of right now it seems to be Sakura as the only medical ninja who can do anything to help the injured at all! Thanks for the reply!

I think Tsunade will own Madara to prove the point of the will of fire ....

Are you sure there can be two Hokage at once? I know that Hiruzen was Third and Minato was Fourth and they were both alive at the same time, but as I understand it, Hiruzen simply retired the position and let Minato success him (so Hiruzen may have been called the Third [because he was] but he did not actually hold the title of Hokage). Perhaps I'm wrong, I am not dead on with my accuracy on the series; interesting idea, thanks for the reply!

I think anyone who thinks that Tsunade would nominate naruto for hokage or if she died Naruto would become hokage should have their head examine.If Tsunade dies, which I doubt, Kakashi will become the Hokage for sure.Hero or not, no one wants Naruto at his current intelligence level running their village.

I kind of agree with you; I would imagine that if Tsunade was killed, it would just fuel Naruto's anger against whoever killed her and he would go find them while someone else temporarily takes the Hokage position. IF she's killed by another shinobi, that is. Thanks for the reply!

For real **** the will of fire it's just like Nakama power, annoying. I want her to die since this war needs actually casualties and not fodder characters deaths.

I think she probably will die. I don't think her healing jutsu she is using now will have anything to do with it though. I don't think she is going to turn into an old hag and be useless after the jutsu ends, because that would be dumb. Think about it, the entire battle up until she used the jutsu she was trying to stay alive and heal the others. She is the only medical ninja, she knows she has to stay alive to heal the other Kages. She even said the last person to die should be the medic ninja(I am pretty sure she said that lol). She wouldn't use a jutsu that would cause her to become a burden and be killed easier when the jutsu ends.

Also, there definitely 100% can NOT be two Hokages at the same time. At least not OFFICIAL Hokages. Minato was the official Hokage while Hiruzen was still alive, but Hiruzen was NOT really the Hokage, they just still called him that because it is a title, just like how they call any past USA Presidents President when they are alive, but not really President. They still call Bill Clinton Mr.President, even though he is not officially the President now, just because he used to be and it is a title. It is the same with Hokages, they might call Hiruzen Hokage when Minato was the real Hokage, but he holds no power anymore.

But hey if Tsunade survives the war then that might happen, Naruto becoming the sixth Hokage, the Rokudaime, and Tsunade will just retire. She wouldn't hold any power, but the villagers would still call her Hokage.

I think she will die as soon as their fight with Edo madara is over and she releases her jutsu. I think the jutsu will kill her not Madara

The First and Second were hokage together at some point I think....

.. and the Third Hokage and 4th were overlapping .... I think because the 3rd took over the paperwork and political type things while the 4th was there to solely protect the village...

I'm pretty sure that the 3rd just retired and handed the position over; as for WHEN they said no more than 1 Hokage at a time? I'm not sure they ever did, but it seems to be understood worldwide that there typically isn't 2 "presidents" at once. (president being used in the sense of a national leader)
