Seems to me like Sasuke will instigate a fight and then when someone gets in the way, he notices the greater threat and inadvertently joins Naruto's side, even though he is merely fighting to save his own a**.

I think it will happen. If Itachi uses the Izanami, either Kabuto runs away and edo tensei continues, kabuto dies (god i hope so) and the edo tensei continues, or the izanami is used to make kabuto end the edo tensei, thereby eliminating the fight between madara and anyone else...

I think that Tobi will eventually retreat , he definitely wasn't expecting that Naruto could become so powerful. And then we come back to Sasuke/Itachi vs Kabuto fight.

Kabuto will be in trouble and Tobi will rescue him, because right now he needs him. He wasnt expecting this kind of opposition from the alliance. Then they retreat again to think about new strategies.
