Minato suicided so that he could be with his wife basically. He could have just sealed half of the 9-tails into Naruto and let Kushina take the other half with her as she died but he wanted to let Naruto see both of them when he was older.

So once again Minato is the only one that has not been hit.

Reason why Minato won against Tobi is because tobi let Minato make use of his greatest strength, to exploit enemy weakness in blink of an eye.

Minato is faster by jumping around while tobi can make himself untouchable for 5 minutes. This is why tobi wins.

Minato simply teleports himself without absorbing himself and avoid any bottleneck problem and to that sense he is faster. Tobi has to absorb himself to jump.

It is close between Tobi and Minato.

EDIT:

We know Minato can teleport himself faster then Tobi can absorb.

Tobi has tried twice to absorb Minato and evidence leads it takes same amount of time to absorb another person as it take to absorb himself. (see konan vs tobi)

Tobi comments "talk about fast" when he failed to absorb Minato.

Clearly you didn't understand. I suggest you go back and reread that chapter, he jumped in front of it. That is different, and that is why I said Suigetsu hitting Tobi doesn't count either as they were both willing to take that hit.

I'm not a crazed Minato fan though, as I know that there are quite a few people who can beat him, but most of them are either main characters, villains and heroes alike, or they are people with obvious match-up advantages, like someone who can get rid of all of his FTG kunai.

It is a freaking tool that he uses to dodge, and if you want to be technical about it, he has permanent marks that he puts places so that he can always go there. He has safehouses around Konoha to teleport to, and he has a mark on Kushina's stomach that he can teleport to at any time.

Plus how does hitting someone and dodging their attack not count as dodging better? It wasn't outsmarting him, as they both knew what they were doing, it was just to see who could activate their ST faster. Minato won, that is all.
