My first thread so sorry if i made any mistake in the section in which im posting it or anything.......

Anyways i was just thinking about the new jutsu Izanami and I got quite confused about Itachi....

The thing is, before Itachi's fight against Sasuke, he gave Naruto the crow which had Shishui's eye so that if ever Sasuke thought about revenge, Shishui's jutsu would stop him.

My question is..........WHY THE HELL DID HE HAVE TO DO THAT!!

I mean, i bet he had Izanami when he fought Sasuke, and from what we know of Izanami, its used on the opponent to make him do something, so im guessing Itachi could have just used Izanami when he was dyeing and made Sasuke loyal to the leaf village again. I mean it didn't even matter if he lost his eyes while using the jutsu, cause he was gonna die anyways!

Your thoughts?

Actually izanami might possible kill the opponent i dont think its a wise move to use on sasuke.

Also people keep questioning why itachi never used izanami on tobi. Izanami from what we knows takes the users eye. Now its said that susano dwells in both eyes of ms users. We know that itachi wanted to not only die by sasuke's hands, effectively allowing sasuke to gain the ms, but also getting rid of oro's curse mark.

Now if susano dwells in both eyes and itachi was to use izanami on tobi before fighting sasuke, he wouldve lost an eye and with that wouldnt not have access to susano. But that somewhat defeats the purpose of his fight with sasuke because the only sealing feat he has is the totsuka sword which is equipped to susano therefore if he doesnt have both eyes, he doesnt have susano. If he doesnt have susano he doesnt have the totsuka sword. If he doesnt have the totsuka sword he cannot get rid of the curse mark.

Izanami is a technique to animate and control chakra within its vision, shaping it into any shape (unique to the user) and using it as a form of attack or defense (according to Naruto wiki) so it doesn't have anything to do with making the opponent do something - at least I go by with what the wiki says about it.
And I don't think Itachi wanted to manipulate Sasuke any more than he already did. He probably hoped that Sasuke would go back to the village and be called a hero for defeating him, but as we all know Tobi interfered before that could happen.
I hope this helped ^^; (and that the wiki was right LOL)

You said that Izanami might kill the opponent, but i dont really see how this is possible since Itachi claims he is using it on Kabuto, and he also knows that he doesn't want to kill Kabuto.

I just read the definition off narutopedia and it didnt say anything different than the manga did which told us that it can decides your destiny instead of altering it

so isnt that trying to manipulate him anyways....?

What are the chances? It can be possible but i wouldn't bet on it......very unlikely.

I never said Itachi didn't want to manipulate Sasuke, I just said that he wouldn't want to manipulate him any more than he was doing already. And wouldn't Shishui's jutsu just stopped Sasuke? Sorry I'm a bit confused about that because I've just woken up ^^;
But yeah, Itachi did manipulate Sasuke, but he probably thought even he had to set a line he couldn't cross with his manipulation LOL
